Share your calm and energy through us – onsite work, NO ONLINE – Gurgaon - India

‘DownDog Yoga India’, is India's First bespoke Wellness Club, professionally managed by a team of well-educated, and well-travelled Indians based out of Singapore with a strong love for extending the reach of Yoga among different social demographics but primarily across city living Gen Z, Millennials, and Generation X.

Our Flagship club is located off Golf Course Road in Gurgaon and holds a footprint of approx. 12,000 sqft. The infrastructure at DownDog Yoga India is at par with the best of the breed Wellness Clubs globally.

Our Business is driven by an inner desire to create a strong positive social impact by bringing Yoga to well-educated, well-travelled, highly successful but time-deprived, stress-ridden human souls. This market demographic comprises successful entrepreneurs, business leaders, corporate leaders, community leaders, and so on. We firmly believe this market segment's health, happiness, and family cohesiveness is the key to our country’s sustainable market growth.

We believe strongly in:

• Everyone has the ‘right’ to remain healthy.
• Everyone has the ‘right’ to be happy.
• Everyone has the right to experience life’s good things.
• Everyone has the ‘right’ to remain calm and positive.
• Everyone has the ‘right’ to love oneself.
• Everyone has the right to do what they want.
• Everyone has the right to be who they are. We love and respect diversity.

DownDog Yoga India’s objective is to gradually teach all 8 limbs of Yoga, starting with Asana (yoga postures) training, which incorporates all physical aspects of Hatha Yoga teaching (HOT and NON-HOT - Vinyasa, Basic Hatha, YIN, Restorative, Jivamukti, Iyengar, Baron Baptiste, Universal, etc.). We will also focus on Pranayama (breath control), which is another limb of Yoga.

What kind of Yoga Teachers we are looking for?

We are looking for humble but committed souls who share their passion and love for Yoga in the following ways:

• Ability to teach different styles of Yoga across various age groups and market demographics. You will specialize in one or a maximum of three different styles of Yoga.
• Personally assess Members to determine their level of proficiency in Yoga practice and design Yoga postures sequence to suit our Members' requirements.
• You bring with yourself a strong work ethic and an internal push to give your best to our Members as they progress through their Yoga journey.
• You need to be internally driven and an ongoing learner. We are not looking for a 9-5 mindset. We seek individuals who are self-managed and highly disciplined.
• You will have the flexibility to create your own customized yoga sequence depending upon your target Members' needs but must strictly follow the company’s guidelines for Members' safety during practice, Members' engagement methodology, and best practices in Yoga teaching.
• Assist students in achieving proper breathing techniques and alignments.
• Ability to take full ownership of our Members’ well-being and their Yoga journey.
• Ability to work in a completely flat Organization. We are strictly not looking for a corporate-groomed yoga teacher.
• Ability to be personal and interactive with the members to build your own community. We are not looking for ego-driven Yoga gurus. Even if you teach HOT Yoga, your teaching delivery cannot be dictatorial but interactive and full of empathy.
• Ability to communicate fluently in Hindi and English and must have a witty and inquisitive mind. Language proficiency in Korean, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, or Chinese will be desired.
• Ability to make teaching fun and ensure our Members relax, sweat, and achieve a sense of calm accomplishment towards the end of each Yoga session.
• Personal follow-up with each Member is mandatory and non-negotiable.
• Respect and courtesy for every person within the club and every Member is a must.

Educational Qualifications and Teaching Experience:

• At least a Bachelor's degree, but a Master's in Yoga (preferred) from a credible local or international university.
• Minimum 500 hours of Yoga Teacher training gained through a registered Yoga school. However, credible Yoga teaching experience gained both inside and outside India is required. Online teaching Yoga to international clientele does not count.
• Professional certification directly from recognized Yoga Teachers such as R. Sharath Jois, Bikram Choudhury, Dharma Mittra, BKS Iyengar, Kathryn Budig, Kino MacGregor, Shiva Rea, Jason Crandell, Baron Baptiste, and others.
• Experience conducting teacher training globally. Online teacher training will not be considered.

If you have what we are looking for, we would love to hear from you.

Remuneration:

Our remuneration will be benchmarked with the best premium Yoga clubs in the world and will come with substantial perks (only applicable after successful completion of the probation period), which will include, depending on skill set and teaching experience – an attractive base salary, travel allowance, opportunity to become part of an elite yoga teacher training club, subsidized education to further your Yoga education in India, and so forth.

For us to evaluate your true potential, please ensure you have included all the following details in your application:

• Live video of your teaching so that we can hear your voice and heart. You can pick the aspect of Hatha Yoga which you love to teach and share your teaching style, dialogue, student engagement, etc. You can do this either solo or while teaching your class.
• Your detailed work profile highlighting your Yoga journey. We need to hear from you in your own words why you chose Yoga, why you teach Yoga, and what you want to achieve in your life through teaching Yoga. This is a must.
• What attracts you to this role, based on what you read in this job description and your personal career goals.
• Steps you take to keep yourself up to date with yoga teaching and grow further in your personal yoga practice. In other words, how you fuel your own hunger for Yoga and personal growth.
• In your most recent Yoga work assignment, were you permanently employed or on contract? What were your reasons for leaving?
• Most recent salary drawn – base (monthly/class) and variable (commission).
• Please attach all your education, work, and salary certificates.

We are always looking for excellent candidates.
