Position Summary

We are looking for a warm, skilled, and passionate Yoga & Wellness Instructor to join our Student Health & Wellness team. In this full-time role, you will design and lead engaging yoga classes and broader wellness programs that support the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our students and faculty/staff. You will help foster a culture of mindfulness, balance, and self-care across campus.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and teach regular yoga classes suitable for a diverse university community (beginners to intermediate levels).
  
• Design and facilitate broader wellness programming, including stress management sessions, mindfulness workshops, and themed wellness events.
  
• Create inclusive, accessible, and welcoming class environments that encourage participation from students and faculty/staff of all backgrounds and ability levels.
  
• Collaborate with the Student Health & Wellness team and other campus departments to integrate wellness offerings into campus life.
  
• Maintain class attendance records, gather participant feedback, and continuously improve programming.
  
• Promote wellness initiatives through campus communication channels and events.
  
• Ensure safe practice by providing clear instruction, modifications, and appropriate use of equipment.
  
• Contribute to a positive, supportive campus culture aligned with Rishihood’s values of purpose, impact, and holistic growth.
  

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in yoga and/or wellness programming.
  
• Strong ability to teach group classes and design engaging wellness workshops.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm, approachable, and inclusive teaching style.
  
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include some evenings and weekends.
  
• Commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive space for all participants.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal yoga teacher training or certification (any recognized program).
  
• Experience working in educational institutions, particularly higher education.
  
• Background in mindfulness, meditation, stress management, or related wellness modalities.
  
• Experience teaching diverse populations, including beginners and mixed-ability groups.
  
• Familiarity with or openness to Indian contemplative traditions and holistic approaches to well-being.
