Job summary

SMC Switchgear, based in India, seeks an experienced Works Manager to oversee end-to-end production operations at our switchgear facility. You will plan production, allocate machine loads, manage material flow, and coordinate a skilled workforce to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

The role requires 5-10 years in production or works management, with a Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, and strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, safety, and process standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of experience in production or works management, preferably in switchgear/panel board manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of switchgear components, assembly processes, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily/weekly/monthly production schedules as per order requirements.
• Allocate machine loads efficiently based on capacity, priority, and maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate material planning by working closely with procurement and stores to ensure material availability.
• Supervise and coordinate shop-floor workers and supervisors for smooth production flow.
• Monitor production progress, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety practices, and process guidelines.
• Optimize machine utilization and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate production reports, utilization records, and daily MIS.
