This role is designed for a hybrid work model, with an expectation of 2 days per week from an HPE office. It is a position within Aruba, a leading provider of next‑generation network access solutions that help enterprise customers modernize their networks for a digital future.
What You’ll Do
- Provide pre‑ and post‑sales design and consulting services to Aruba‑HPE teams, customers and partners for various technologies and solutions.
- Deliver a complete service lifecycle for customers including Plan, Design, Implementation, Migration and Optimization.
- Plan: Create customer requirement documents and business outcome plans.
- Design: Create high‑level and low‑level design documents based on customer requirements.
- Implementation: Prepare installation plans, including network implementation plans and readiness plans.
- Migration: Prepare migration procedures and validation checks.
- Optimization: Continuously improve network operations, uptime and security conformance.
- Multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively, presenting and interacting with senior levels of customer organizations.
- Formulate action plans for technical and operational issue resolution.
- Simulate customer designs in a lab environment.
- Participate in solution development and knowledge‑base publications.
- Collaborate in team environments with Aruba and customer colleagues, QA, engineers and field organizations.
- Travel to customer sites for consulting, training, and business reviews.
- Deliver quarterly customer review meetings, providing technical status and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of customer‑facing consulting and design experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Aruba products such as IAPs/Controllers, Airwave, ClearPass, Central, or Aruba switches.
- Knowledge of authentication protocols and authentication servers.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting VoIP protocols (SIP, SVP, H323, etc.).
- Demonstrable experience identifying process‑improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrable experience in customer network design and implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical and consulting experience supporting networking products and solutions, with advanced expertise in network switching, routing and security.
- Industry certifications such as CCIE, CWNA, ACCP, ACMP, ACMX, ACDX, or RHEL.
- Routing and switching protocols: BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, MSTP.
- Datacenter design experience.
- Radius (authentication, authorization, attributes, CoA, accounting) expertise.
- SNMP‑based monitoring and AMON troubleshooting.
- Linux installation and troubleshooting skills.
- TACACS (authentication and per‑command authorization) experience.
- PKI (CA, certificates, encryption, trust, client‑side configuration).
- Captive portal design (redirects, logins, walled garden).
- Web programming: PHP, HTML, JavaScript.
- Cloud technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure.
- 802.1x (EAP‑PEAP, EAP‑TLS, supplicant configuration, server trust).
- Network device AAA and policy enforcement (ACLs, firewalls, dACLs, web redirection, VLAN switching).
- Windows system administration (AD, DC, domains, GPO).
- LDAP and SQL (DB structure, filter creation, Postgres knowledge).
- API development (XML, SOAP, REST, Python).
- VPN (IPSec, policy, AAA).
- NAC (posture check, NAP, policy framework).
- Networking fundamentals (routing, DNS, DHCP).
- Load‑balancing (web, DNS, radius).
- Strong networking experience with L2/L3 protocols and wireless concepts.
