Job summary

Maersk is looking for competent Wiper with seagoing experience to join our engine department aboard one of the world’s largest container vessels. A key position in the engine department on our technically advanced ships, with emphasis on health and safety and career development.

The role requires minimum 12 months sea service on foreign-going ships, English proficiency, PPE and emergency procedures knowledge, and STCW Manila amendments certificates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months sea service on foreign-going ships.
• Working knowledge of spoken English.
• Knowledge of PPE and safety procedures.
• Familiar with ISM, ISPS and security duties.
• STCW 2010 Manila amendments certificates.
• Minimum 12 months welding experience from shipyard or welding industry.

A key position in the engine department onboard one of the world’s largest Container shipping company where seafarers are onboarded and equipped to perform and contribute to deliver the vessel commitments. Seafarers are trained and guided in achieving their personal development and career advancement. Recruitment Criteria

• Minimum of 12 months sea service experience on foreign going ships
• Working knowledge of spoken English
• Basic knowledge of ISM, ISPS, and security related duties
• Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Knowledge of Emergency Procedures (Fire-Abandonship-Man overboard-Oil Spill)
• Awareness of Safety meetings, reporting near miss, incidents, accidents
• Certificates compliant to STCW 2010 Manila amendments requirements
• Minimum 12 months experience as Welder from Shipyard or work in any relevant Welding industry.
