Job summary

Amazon in Maharashtra is seeking a WHS Officer to partner with site operations in EDSP stations and ensure compliance with local and regional regulations. The role emphasizes reducing ergonomic risk and promoting a safe, healthful workplace for Associates.

The ideal candidate will lead risk assessments, safety data analysis, and continuous improvements while training Operations Leaders and communicating safety messages clearly across the team. This 5-day operation supports a 7-day shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 1+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience.
• 2+ years experience in Environment, Health & Safety or ME in Industrial Safety Engineering.
• Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a site operations team in EDSP Stations to execute safety policies and regulatory compliance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk for Associates.
• Instruct and train Operations Leaders in company safety policies and standards.
• Communicate safety information clearly, both verbally and in writing, to influence change.
• Identify best practices and incorporate them to continuously improve safety policies.

The WHS officer will be responsible for partnering with a site operations team in EDSP stations to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our Associates. The WHS officer must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. The WHS officer must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. This individual must instruct and train Operations Leaders in company safety policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety standards at their site. The WHS officer will be required to identify best practices and incorporate these best practices into our standards to continuously improve company safety policies. The WHS officer will be required to possess excellent safety program and relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge and demonstrates this expertise when working with Operations.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 1+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years previous experience in Environment, Health & Safety or ME in Industrial Safety Engineering Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
