Job summary

ResponsibleUs in India is seeking an entry-level WHS/EHS officer to partner with site operations to implement workplace safety procedures, conduct audits, report incidents, and drive risk assessments.

The role covers safety training, toolbox talks, PPE compliance, safety metrics analysis, and continuous improvement using lean methods. A bachelor's degree and 2+ years in EHS or similar is required; lean certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2+ years in EHS or related programmes
• Experience with lean principles and process improvement is required
• A government-certified safety qualification is preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety audits and inspections and lead incident reporting and investigations
• Perform risk assessments and deliver safety training and toolbox talks
• Participate in safety committee meetings and ensure PPE compliance
• Manage safety-supply inventory and procurement and track safety metrics
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational risks
• Coach site associates and leaders on WHS requirements and best practices
• Communicate safety matters clearly and contribute to site safety programme enhancements

Job Description

The WHS Officer will partner with site operations teams to implement Amazon Workplace Health & Safety procedures, maintain compliance with applicable laws and standards, and promote a safe working environment. Responsibilities include conducting safety audits and inspections, incident reporting and investigations, risk assessments, safety training, toolbox talks, safety committee meetings, PPE compliance, safety-supply inventory and procurement, and analysis of safety metrics. The role will also support continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and process improvement methods to reduce operational, conditional and ergonomic risks. The officer will coach associates and Operations Leaders on WHS requirements, communicate safety matters clearly, identify best practices and contribute to improving site safety programmes. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2+ years of increasing responsibility in EHS or environmental programmes within manufacturing, production or service operations. Experience with lean principles and process improvement is required. A government-certified safety qualification is preferred.
