Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking a Site WHS Officer to partner with the site operations team at our Fulfillment Center in India to execute safety policies and ensure compliance with local regulations.

The role focuses on reducing risk through lean principles and continuous improvement across processes and ergonomic hazards. The ideal candidate will communicate clearly, train Operations Leaders in safety standards, identify best practices, and apply data-driven risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Experience in an environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 1+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs or in work health and safety.
• Master's degree in Health and Safety or a related field.
• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• The Site WHS Officer will partner with site operations to execute safety policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• It will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce ergonomic and conditional risk.
• Communicate clearly, train Operations Leaders in safety standards at the site.
• Identify best practices and incorporate them into safety standards.
• Demonstrate expertise in safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge when working with Operations.

Job description

The Site WHS Officer will be responsible for partnering with a site operations team in a Fulfillment Center/QC Superstore to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our Associates. The Site WHS Officer must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
Key job responsibilities
The Site WHS Officer must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. This individual must instruct and train Operations Leaders in company safety policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety standards at their site. The Site WHS Officer will be required to identify best practices and incorporate these best practices into our standards to continuously improve company safety policies. The Site WHS Officer will be required to possess excellent safety program and relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge and demonstrates this expertise when working with Operations.
We have a 5-day work week but given the 7 days a week operation, the 2 scheduled days off will vary based on shift patterns and business needs.

Basic Qualifications
