Job summary

Gujarat Infrapipes in Vadodara invites an Engineer / Sr. Engineer - Welding to lead welding activities for heavy fabrication and mechanical projects.

You will review WPS, PQR, WPQ and welding docs, monitor processes like Arc Welding, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and ensure work matches drawings and standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy fabrication, process equipment, piping spools, vessels and tanks.
• Strong knowledge of ASME and AWS welding standards.
• Ability to review welding drawings and specifications with precision.

Responsibilities

• Handle welding activities for heavy fabrication and mechanical engineering projects.
• Prepare and review WPS, PQR, WPQ and welding-related documents.
• Monitor and control welding processes such as Arc Welding, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and similar.
• Conduct welding inspection, fit-up inspection, visual inspection and dimensional checks.
• Ensure welding work is carried out as per approved drawings, codes, standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate with production, QA/QC, planning and client inspection teams.
• Support quality control activities and ensure defect-free welding work.
• Review welding defects and provide corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure proper selection of welding consumables, filler wires and electrodes.
• Maintain welding records, inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Guide welders and fabrication teams for proper welding methods and quality improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and manufacturing standards.

Job description

1. Handle welding activities for heavy fabrication and mechanical engineering projects.

• Good knowledge of ASME, AWS and related welding standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to handle production pressure and meet project deadlines.
