Job summary

HYT Engineering seeks a Welding Engineer to supervise welding technology for safety-critical, load-bearing assemblies and ensure joints are qualified, produced, and inspected to meet national and international standards with full traceability.

The engineer will be the technical authority on welding processes, distortion control, and weld quality across new product development and upgrades, requiring deep knowledge of arc welding and related CAD/CAM tools.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of arc and specialised welding processes and their metallurgical effects.
• Distortion and residual-stress control; fixture and jig design for welded assemblies.
• Fluent in reading engineering drawings and interpreting weld symbols (ISO 2553 / AWS A2.4).
• Familiar with NDT interpretation, weld defect classification and metallographic evaluation.

Role & responsibilities

The Welding Engineer supervise the welding technology for safety-critical, load-bearing and code-governed fabricated assemblies. The role ensures that every welded joint is qualified, produced and inspected to meet the applicable national and international standards, with full traceability and zero tolerance for defects that could compromise structural integrity or service safety.

The engineer is the technical authority on welding processes, consumables, distortion control and weld quality across new product development and existing product upgrades.

Preferred candidate profile

• Deep knowledge of arc and specialised welding processes and their metallurgical effects.
• Distortion and residual-stress control; fixture and jig design for welded assemblies.
• Fluent in reading engineering drawings and interpreting weld symbols (ISO 2553 / AWS A2.4).
• Familiar with NDT interpretation, weld defect classification and metallographic evaluation.
• Working knowledge of relevant CAD/CAM and welding-related software; MS Office for documentation.
