Job summary

FERRO TIGER in Mysuru, India invites applications for a welder role. You will perform welding using approved processes, demonstrate proficiency in 1G to 5G positions, and read engineering drawings and weld symbols. Ensure material identification, fit-up, alignment, and tack welds before final welding.

You will maintain weld quality, minimize defects, carry out self-inspection, and support NDT as required, while following WPS, PPE, and safety protocols. Experience in fabrication is preferred.

Qualifications

• ITI or welding trade qualification preferred.
• Valid welder qualification/certification for applicable process, material and welding position is mandatory.
• Experience in industrial fabrication, structural welding and machine-frame fabrication is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding using approved processes (MIG/MAG, SMAW or FCAW) as applicable to the job and welder qualification.
• Demonstrate proficiency in welding positions 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G with valid qualifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, joint details and welding instructions.
• Ensure correct material identification, joint preparation, fit-up, alignment and tack welding before final welding.
• Maintain weld quality and dimensional accuracy while minimizing distortion, defects and rework.
• Carry out visual self-inspection and rectify defects; support quality inspection and NDT where required.
• Ensure proper handling of welding equipment, consumables and tools; report abnormalities.
• Follow approved WPS, quality requirements, PPE, hot-work safety procedures, fire prevention and housekeeping.

Achieve first-time weld acceptance, comply with approved drawings and WPS, minimize weld rejection and rework, maintain workplace safety, and complete assigned work within the production schedule.

AUTHORITY & ACCOUNTABILITY

Responsible for the quality of assigned welding work, proper use of equipment and consumables, compliance with safety requirements, and immediate reporting of non-conformities to the supervisor.
