Job summary

Daskalos in Ranchi, India is looking for a Website Engineering Lead to build and maintain high-performance WordPress websites. You will lead a small team of developers to deliver website enhancements, review code, and uphold engineering standards while coordinating with Product and Marketing.

The role requires 5–7 years of WordPress development, PHP 8+ with OOP, and strong experience in themes, plugins, APIs, Salesforce integrations, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of professional WordPress development experience.
• Strong PHP 8+ OOP skills.
• Expertise with WP themes, plugins, hooks, REST APIs, and WP APIs.
• Experience integrating Salesforce with WordPress through APIs or middleware.
• Strong debugging, communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
• Knowledge of MySQL, Linux, caching, CDN, security, and API integrations.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

You'll work closely with developers to deliver website enhancements, review code, maintain engineering standards, and ensure reliable releases. You'll also partner with the Product, and Marketing teams to deliver website initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, and reusable components
• Develop solutions using WordPress APIs, hooks, filters, custom post types, taxonomies, metadata, REST APIs, and third-party integrations
• Review code and ensure high standards for quality, security, performance, and maintainability

• Custom Post Types, Taxonomies, and Metadata
• JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and Vanilla JavaScript
• Experience integrating Salesforce with WordPress using APIs or middleware
• Experience optimizing website performance and Core Web Vitals
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and automated testing
• Good understanding of MySQL, Linux, caching, CDN, HTTP, website security, and API integrations
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
