Daskalos is seeking a Website Engineering Lead to build and maintain high‑performance WordPress websites. You will work with developers to deliver enhancements, review code, maintain standards, and ensure reliable releases. You will also partner with Product and Marketing to drive website initiatives.

Key responsibilities include creating custom themes/plugins, leveraging WordPress APIs, and optimizing performance, while collaborating across teams to deliver robust, scalable projects.

Qualifications

5–7 years of professional experience developing WordPress applications using PHP (PHP 8+) with strong OOP knowledge.
Strong expertise in: custom WordPress themes and plugins, hooks, filters, APIs, REST APIs, and Composer.
Experience with Custom Post Types, Taxonomies, and Metadata.
JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and Vanilla JavaScript; Salesforce integration with WordPress is a plus.
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and automated testing.
Good understanding of MySQL, Linux, caching, CDN, HTTP, and API integrations.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, and reusable components.
Develop solutions using WordPress APIs, hooks, filters, CPTs, taxonomies, metadata, REST APIs, and third‑party integrations.
Review code and ensure high standards for quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
Plan, coordinate, and deliver website releases with developers.
Optimize site performance, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, analytics, Salesforce integrations, and third‑party services.
Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and production releases.
Troubleshoot production issues and improve website reliability.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Marketing, and developers to deliver website enhancements.
