Job summary

Daskalos in Bareilly, India seeks a Website Engineering Lead to build and maintain high-performance WordPress websites. You will lead complex PHP/WordPress development, review code, and ensure reliable releases, while partnering with Product and Marketing to drive website initiatives.

You will oversee custom themes/plugins, WordPress APIs, and integrations, focusing on performance, security, and scalable architecture within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of professional experience developing WordPress applications using PHP (PHP 8+) with strong OOP knowledge.
• Expertise in building custom WordPress themes and plugins.
• Experience with WordPress hooks, filters, APIs, REST APIs, and Composer.
• Experience with Custom Post Types, Taxonomies, and Metadata; strong front-end skills (JS, HTML5, CSS3).
• Experience integrating Salesforce with WordPress using APIs or middleware.
• Experience optimizing website performance and Core Web Vitals; familiarity with caching/CDN/security.
• Git, CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and automated testing.
• Strong MySQL, Linux, caching, HTTP, and API integration understanding.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, and reusable components.
• Develop solutions using WordPress APIs, hooks, filters, CPTs, taxonomies, and REST APIs.
• Review code and ensure quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver website releases with the dev team.
• Optimize performance, Core Web Vitals, SEO, analytics, and third‑party integrations.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and production releases.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve website reliability.
