Job summary

Daskalos is seeking a Website Engineering Lead in Ajmer, India to build and maintain high-performance WordPress websites. You will collaborate with developers to deliver enhancements, review code, and ensure reliable releases while coordinating with Product and Marketing teams.

Responsibilities include creating custom WordPress themes/plugins, integrating WordPress with Salesforce, and optimizing Core Web Vitals, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of professional WordPress development experience with PHP (PHP 8+) and strong OOP knowledge.
• Experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins with REST APIs, custom post types, taxonomies, and metadata.
• Strong expertise in WordPress hooks, filters, APIs, and Composer integration.
• Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JS; Salesforce integration experience a plus.

Role Overview

We're looking for a Website Engineering Lead to build and maintain high-performance WordPress websites. You'll work closely with developers to deliver website enhancements, review code, maintain engineering standards, and ensure reliable releases. You'll also partner with the Product, and Marketing teams to deliver website initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, and reusable components
• Develop solutions using WordPress APIs, hooks, filters, custom post types, taxonomies, metadata, REST APIs, and third-party integrations
• Review code and ensure high standards for quality, security, performance, and maintainability
• Work with developers to plan, coordinate, and deliver website releases
• Optimize website performance, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, analytics, Salesforce integrations, and third-party services
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and production releases
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve website reliability
• Collaborate with the Product, Design, Marketing, and developers to deliver website enhancements

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–7 years of professional experience developing WordPress applications using PHP (PHP 8+) with strong OOP knowledge
• Strong expertise in:
• Custom WordPress themes and plugins
• WordPress hooks, filters, APIs, REST APIs, and Composer
• Custom Post Types, Taxonomies, and Metadata
• JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and Vanilla JavaScript
