Job summary

Ashland India Private Ltd is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for the Ambernath plant in Mumbai. This onsite, full-time role reports to the Plant Manager and focuses on supervising warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and GMP/GDP compliance to support production schedules.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in warehouse/logistics within regulated industries, with 2+ years in a supervisory capacity and hands-on SAP ERP experience. Knowledge of GMP practices and SAP transactions is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of warehouse and logistics operations experience in regulated industries (pharma/excipients/chemicals/food).
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience in SAP ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise receipt, storage, issuance, and dispatch of materials (raw, packaging, finished goods).
• Maintain FIFO/FEFO inventory management and accurate inventory transactions.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound logistics with transporters and vendors; monitor loading/unloading safety.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to production per plans; support audits and CAPA.
• Promote GMP/GDP compliance and maintain documentation per GMP requirements.

Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Warehouse supervisorto join our Ambernath plant Mumbai team. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company, the position will report to the Plant manager.

This is a Onsite full time position.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supervise receipt, storage, issuance, and dispatch of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.

• Ensure proper segregation, identification, and storage of materials as per GMP requirements.

• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities with transporters and vendors.

• Monitor loading and unloading activities to ensure safe material handling.

• Maintain FIFO/FEFO inventory management practices.

• Ensure timely availability of materials to production as per production plans.

• Coordinate with Production, QA, QC, Procurement, and Planning teams for smooth operations.

• Perform and monitor SAP transactions related to:

• • Goods Receipt (GRN)
  • Goods Issue (GI)
  • Transfer Posting
  • Stock Transfer
  • Inventory Reconciliation
  • Batch Management
  • Dispatch Documentation

• Ensure real-time and accurate inventory transactions in SAP.

• Generate inventory, stock movement, and logistics reports from SAP.

• Support inventory audits and cycle count activities.

• Ensure warehouse and logistics activities comply with GMP, GDP, and company quality requirements.

• Maintain documentation as per GMP requirements.

• Ensure proper status labeling of materials (Approved, Quarantine, Rejected).

• Participate in GMP training programs and ensure team compliance.

• Support audits conducted by customers, regulatory agencies, and internal auditors.

• Assist in investigation and closure of deviations, CAPA, and change controls related to warehouse operations.

• Monitor stock levels and maintain inventory accuracy.

• Conduct periodic cycle counts and annual physical inventory verification.

• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.

• Minimize inventory losses, damages, and obsolescence.

• Ensure compliance with EHS policies and safe warehouse practices.

• Monitor safe operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts, stackers, and pallet trucks.

• Conduct safety inspections and promote a strong safety culture.

• Report and address unsafe conditions and near-miss incidents.

• Supervise warehouse operators and logistics staff.

• Allocate daily work and monitor performance.

• Provide training on GMP, SAP, safety, and warehouse procedures.

• Promote teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement initiatives.

In order to be qualified for this role, you _ must possess _ the following:

• 3-5 years of experience in warehouse and logistics operations in pharmaceutical, excipient, chemical, food, or regulated manufacturing industries.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience in SAP ERP systems.

The following skill sets are _ preferred _ by the business unit:

• Graduate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Science, or related discipline.

• Diploma or certification in Supply Chain/Logistics Management preferred.
