Job summary

Wabtec in India is seeking an experienced Stores/Warehouse professional to manage component stores, including receiving, safekeeping, accounting, and issuing materials to support monthly production schedules.

You will maintain accurate inventory records, conduct perpetual and annual stock verifications, monitor levels, and ensure proper storage to prevent damage. Real-time ERP updates via Oracle and cross‑department coordination are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in stores / warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and documentation processes.
  • Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and comply with standards.

Responsibilities

  • Store Operations Management: receiving, safekeeping, accounting, and issuing materials.
  • Inventory Control: perpetual & annual stock verifications and reconciliation.
  • System & Documentation: update ERP transactions in real-time (Oracle) and maintain records.
  • Dispatch & Coordination: coordinate with Purchase, Quality, and other departments.
  • Compliance & Housekeeping: adhere to 5S / TQM / TPM / EMS and safety practices.
  • Support: assist Store Manager and handle additional responsibilities.

Job description

  • Ensure efficient store operations including receipt, storage, and issue of materials to support production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock visibility for internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper material handling, storage practices, and compliance with standards (5S/TPM/TQM).

Measurement

  • Inventory accuracy and record maintenance
  • Compliance with 5S / TPM / audit standards

C (Cost):

  • Avoidance of material damage / deterioration
  • Proper handling of rejected / excess materials

D (Delivery):

  • Timely material issue to production
  • Availability of materials as per production schedule

Additional KPIs:

  • Completion of stock verification (perpetual & annual)
  • Timely updation of ERP transactions

Main responsibilities:

Store Operations Management

  • Manage component store including receiving, safekeeping, accounting, and issuing materials.
  • Ensure materials are available to meet monthly production schedules

Inventory Control & Monitoring

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and provide timely inventory status to users.
  • Conduct perpetual inventory and annual stock verification, including reconciliation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and provide alerts to SCM for necessary actions.
  • Ensure proper storage practices to avoid damage or deterioration of materials.
  • Maintain shelf-life items as per defined work instructions.
  • Identify and manage rejected materials (return/storage/disposal)

System & Documentation

  • Update all store transactions in ERP systems (Oracle) on real-time basis.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all store transactions.

Dispatch & Coordination

  • Dispatch materials to subcontractors after proper verification of documents and materials.
  • Coordinate with Purchase, Quality, and other departments for store-related activities.

Compliance & Housekeeping

  • Ensure compliance with 5S / TQM / TPM / EMS standards.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices in stores.

Support & Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist Store Manager in overall store operations.
  • Handle any additional responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Required Candidate Profile

Education/Training

  • B.Com / B.A / Diploma in Supply Chain Management

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in stores / warehouse operations
