JOB DESCRIPTION - STAFF NURSE

Role & responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients as per their clinical needs and prescribed treatment plans.
• Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patients health conditions.
• Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed by authorised medical practitioners.
• Assist doctors during clinical examinations, procedures, and emergency situations.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation, medication charts, and patient records.
• Ensure proper patient admission, transfer, discharge, and shift handover procedures.
• Follow infection prevention and control protocols, including hand hygiene and biomedical waste management.
• Ensure patient identification, medication safety, and compliance with patient safety standards.
• Educate patients and their attendants regarding treatment, medication, hygiene, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain the cleanliness, readiness, and proper functioning of nursing equipment and patient care areas.

Preferred candidate profile
