Job summary

SIMS Hospital in Chennai seeks a dedicated nurse to join our clinical team. You will maintain policies, assess patients, and coordinate care across disciplines to ensure safe and effective recovery.

The role includes nursing histories, monitoring vitals, medication administration, discharge planning, and educating patients and families about procedures and home care. Freshers to 5 years of experience are welcome.

Qualifications

• DGNM or BSc in Nursing is preferred.
• Experience: Fresher to 5 years of nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Maintain departmental policies, quality and infection control standards.
• Write nursing histories and develop individual care plans.
• Monitor vitals and report medication adverse reactions promptly.
• Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families on procedures and post-surgery care.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Writes initial nursing histories, assessment & re assessment of patients conditions and develops individual care plans for patients assigned to the unit.
• Able to formulate Nursing Care plan
• Monitor patients’ vitals and report adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner
• Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team
• Answer questions and educate patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care
• Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records
• Adhere to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.
• Administers and controls medications.
• Functions in IP providing patient care, which includes daily assessment, co-coordinating care with other disciplines, managing nursing problems and preparing patient for home care.
• Maintain and ensures the patient’s case sheet is intact.
