Job summary

Velankani Communications Technologies (VCTI) in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Engineer/Techno Manager to own end-to-end pluggable firmware features, from design to delivery.

You will work in a multi-scrum environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers, applying C++ in embedded Linux/RTOS, and using AI-assisted development tools. The role emphasizes debugging, code reviews, and robust testing practices.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ in embedded/device context.
• OO design and design patterns; Python preferred.
• Version control with Git and bug tracking with JIRA; strong debugging skills.
• Domain exposure to optical pluggables, CMIS, OTN, DSP/line configuration.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development and GenAI tooling.

Responsibilities

Scope & ownership

• Feature design and development; requirement analysis and complex debug.
• Own end-to-end delivery of assigned pluggable firmware areas covering both sustaining (maintenance, defect fixing, customer-reported issues) and new feature development.
• Plan and commit to the feature roadmap for the assigned areas, and run sprint execution across all three scrums to those commitments.
• The techno-manager owns scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, progress reporting and is the single point of accountability to Nokia.
• Maintain quality code reviews, unit/integration test, and support for the test teams through issue reproduction and fixes.

Core skills required

Dev:

• Strong C++ in an embedded / device context, on multithreaded RTOS or embedded Linux (interrupts, device drivers, memory).
• Object-oriented design and design patterns; at least one scripting language (Python preferred).
• Version control (GIT) and bug tracking (JIRA); solid analytical and debugging skills.
• Domain exposure a strong plus: optical pluggables,CMIS, OTN, DSP / line configuration — especially for the Senior Engineer and Techno Manager roles.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development and the AI-augmented SDLC — practical use of GenAI coding assistants and AI tooling across design, coding, testing and debugging.
