Role summary
You will own the delivery rhythm of engineering and implementation projects at Provakil running the project management cycle from planning through delivery while simultaneously operating as the scrum master for the engineering teams you work with. This is a dual-responsibility role: you manage the what and when (project scope, timelines, dependencies, stakeholder communication) and the how (sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, velocity tracking, and blocker removal).
Youll work across internal engineering teams and client-facing implementation teams, ensuring projects stay on track, sprints are productive, and stakeholders on both sides internal leadership and enterprise clients — always know where things stand. This is not a role where you create plans and hand them off. You’re in the room every day: facilitating ceremonies, tracking progress, escalating risks, and making sure the team ships what it committed to, on time and at the right quality.
What you’ll do
Project planning & delivery
- Own the project management lifecycle for assigned projects: scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
- Develop and maintain project plans: define scope, milestones, timelines, resource requirements, and dependencies — keep them updated as things change
- Track project progress against plan: identify delays, risks, and blockers early and take action before they impact delivery
- Manage multiple concurrent projects across engineering and implementation teams without letting any of them slip
- Conduct post-delivery reviews to assess what went well, what didn’t, and what should change for the next project
- Work with product managers and engineering leads to maintain a well-groomed, prioritised backlog — every sprint starts with clarity on what’s being built and why
- Drive sprint planning: help the team commit to a realistic scope based on velocity, capacity, and priorities — protect the team from overcommitment
- Track and report sprint metrics: velocity, burndown, carry-over, and sprint goal completion — use data to identify patterns and improve sprint-over-sprint
- Remove blockers: when an engineer is stuck on a dependency, an approval, or a decision, you own getting it unblocked — don’t wait for someone else to escaly?
- Coach the team on agile best practices: timeboxing, story estimation, incremental delivery, and continuous improvement — without making scrum feel like bureaucracy
Requirements gathering & documentation
- Work with stakeholders (product, engineering, client-facing teams) to gather, clarify, and document project requirements
- Translate business requirements into structured documentation that engineering teams can execute against: project briefs, requirement specs, and acceptance criteria
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and the development team — ensure both sides understand what’s being built, why, and what the constraints are
- Maintain clear project documentation: scope documents and change requests
Stakeholder communication & reporting
- Communicate project status, risks, and decisions to internal stakeholders (engineering leadership, product, client engagement) through regular status updates and review meetings
- Coordinate with client-facing teams on delivery timelines for implementation projects — the Engagement and Implementation teams depend on your timelines being accurate
- Escalate issues that need leadership attention with clear context: what the issue is, what the impact will be, what options exist, and what you recommend
Quality & process improvement
- Implement quality checkpoints within the delivery process: ensure deliverables meet defined standards before they move to the next stage or go live
- Identify recurring process bottlenecks and propose improvements — if the same type of delay happens across projects, fix the process, not just the symptom
- Build and refine delivery templates, checklists, and playbooks that make future projects faster and more predictable
Must-have skills
- 4-7 years of experience in project management or delivery management in a software product or B2B SaaS company
- Experience managing the full project lifecycle: scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for software delivery projects
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or teams without losing track of details, dependencies, or deadlines
- Strong communication skills — you can facilitate meetings, present status reports, and communicate risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Structured, organised approach to work — you maintain project documentation, track action items, and follow up without being reminded
- Problem-solving mindset — when a project hits a blocker or a sprint falls behind, you diagnose the issue and drive resolution rather than just reporting it
- Comfort with project management and sprint tools (Jira, Asana, ClickUp, Linear, or similar)
Good-to-have skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent agile certification
- Experience working in an engineering environment where you understand technical concepts well enough to facilitate meaningful conversations between product and engineering
- Prior experience managing client-facing delivery projects in addition to internal engineering sprints
- Familiarity with software development processes: CI/CD, QA workflows, release management, and deployment cycles
- Experience with resource planning and capacity management across multiple teams
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification
What you’ll learn in this role
- How to run delivery operations for an enterprise SaaS product where engineering work directly impacts client timelines, revenue, and retention.
- The practice of project management — managing the macro aspects of project delivery, including timelines, scope, budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations, while ensuring effective execution, coordination, and successful delivery of project objectives.
- How to work at the intersection of engineering, product, and client delivery — a career foundation for roles in engineering management, program management, or delivery leadership
