Job summary

Merit Data And Technology is seeking a seasoned Network and Systems Administrator to design, deploy, and manage enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD-WAN infrastructure. You will configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless APs, implement routing protocols, and monitor performance.

You will also manage Windows and Linux servers, AD/GPO/DNS/DHCP, and virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V, while ensuring DR planning and security hardening across the estate.

Qualifications

• Design, deploy, and maintain highly available enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN networks.
• Configure, manage, and support routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Implement routing and switching technologies (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, QoS, IPv4/IPv6).
• Monitor performance, plan capacity, optimize bandwidth, and manage ISP connectivity.

Role & responsibilities

Network Architecture & Administration

• Design, deploy, and maintain highly available enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN networks.
• Configure, manage, and support enterprise networking devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Implement and optimize routing and switching technologies such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, trunking, QoS, and IPv4/IPv6 subnetting.
• Monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and optimize bandwidth utilization.
• Manage ISP connectivity, site-to-site VPNs, and remote-access VPN solutions to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
• Utilize network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, and Datadog.

System Administration & Virtualization

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Manage core infrastructure services including Active Directory (AD), Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and File Servers.
• Deploy, administer, and optimize virtualization platforms using VMware vSphere/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Plan, implement, and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies and business continuity procedures.

Security & Compliance

• Configure and manage enterprise security solutions, including Fortinet, Cisco Firepower, SonicWall firewalls, IDS, and IPS.
• Perform vulnerability assessments, system audits, and support penetration testing activities.
• Implement Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Network Access Control (NAC), and endpoint security solutions.
• Develop and manage patch management processes for servers, network devices, firmware, and applications.
• Respond to critical security incidents by analyzing logs, investigating threats, and implementing remediation measures.

Operations & Support

• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise network and server infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex network, server, and security issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and service providers to support infrastructure projects and operational excellence.
