Job summary

Infosys BPM Ltd. is seeking a Payroll specialist/Senior specialist in Pune to manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple cycles. The role supports on-cycle and off-cycle runs, data updates, terminations, and compliance with tax and statutory requirements.

Strong Excel and payroll software experience are essential. Senior responsibilities include leading payroll governance, driving process improvements, and coordinating with HR, Finance, and auditors to ensure accurate, timely payroll

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of Global/Multip-country payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance.
• Proficient in Advanced Excel and payroll software.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for weekly to monthly cycles.
• Handle on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls, including gross-to-net calculations.
• Update employee payroll data including banking details and deductions.
• Process terminations and final settlements.
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate payroll approvals and ensure timely delivery.
• Produce year-end tax statements and support audits.
• Lead payroll governance and process improvement initiatives.

Global Payroll JD:

Payroll specialist/ Senior specialist/ Payroll Lead

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll cycles.
• Process on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls, including gross-to-net calculations, earnings, deductions, and final payouts.
• Handle employee payroll data updates including banking details, tax information, compensation changes, and deductions.
• Process employee terminations, final settlements, separation packages, and garden leave payments.
• Manage statutory deductions such as taxes, social security, garnishments, child support, and other legal deductions.
• Review payroll reports, perform payroll validations, reconcile discrepancies, and resolve payroll errors.
• Coordinate payroll approvals and ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery.
• Manage payroll funding requirements, bank files, payment reversals, returned payments, and outstanding checks.
• Prepare and distribute payroll, tax, compliance, audit, and management reports.
• Coordinate payroll data exchange with internal stakeholders, vendors, government bodies, and third-party institutions.
• Produce year-end tax statements and support payroll audits and compliance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with payroll-related tax regulations, labor laws, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
• Support expatriate, shadow payroll, secondment, and cross-border payroll activities.
• Maintain payroll systems, employee records, process documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Leadership & Advanced Responsibilities (8+ Years):

• Lead and supervise payroll teams supporting multi-country payroll operations.
• Hire, train, mentor, and develop payroll team members.
• Manage payroll escalations and ensure timely issue resolution.
• Drive quality assurance initiatives and payroll governance controls.
• Lead payroll transitions, transformations, automation, and process improvement projects.
• Coordinate tax updates, year-end testing, and payroll system implementations.
• Research and interpret payroll legislation and advise stakeholders on compliance requirements.
• Ensure SOX and statutory compliance documentation remains updated.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Tax, Audit, and Senior Leadership teams to support business objectives.
