Job summary

Venus Safety & Health in Navi Mumbai is seeking a cost accountant to manage product costing, price updates, and cost audits. You will maintain price data, prepare cost statements, and support ERP-based reporting.

The role requires thorough documentation, strong numerical skills and collaboration with internal teams to ensure figures align with approved records. Based near Navi Mumbai, you will contribute to cost control and inventory valuation.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain average purchase prices using approved purchase and accounting data.
• Prepare product-wise costing and labour-cost calculations, retaining workings and supporting documents.
• Prepare export product-costing statements required for CEPA/FTA certificates and coordinate internally to ensure the figures agree with approved records.
• Prepare batch-wise and product-wise cost accounting reports and reconcile them with the relevant ERP/accounting records.Maintain buying-price data in ACSW and update it only on the basis of authorised information and documented approvals.
• Monitor the relationship between buying prices, cost build-up, current average selling prices and applicable pricing factors; flag exceptions for review.
• Perform batch-closure and labour-cost variance analysis; identify unusual movements and obtain explanations from relevant teams.
• Support cost management initiatives by identifying material usage, labour or overhead trends that may affect product cost.
• Coordinate physical inventory verification, investigate differences, and prepare reconciliation and valuation workings.
• Compile material and labour cost details and prepare overhead-apportionment workings for cost-audit requirements.
• Maintain a clear audit trail for calculations, source data, revisions, approvals and reports.
• Escalate missing data, unusual variances, pricing anomalies, inventory differences and reporting delays to the Coach / accountable role.
• Cost-audit schedules and supporting evidence submitted within the agreed deadlines.
