Job summary

YASH Technologies is seeking a Consultant – VxRail to join our Infrastructure team in Bengaluru. The Associate Infrastructure Engineer will participate in supporting, proof of concepts, documenting, and improving operational efficiency focused on Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (VxRail), backups with Avamar and Data Domain, and incident/change management.

Ideal candidates have 0-3 years of relevant experience and may hold VMware, Avamar, or Data Domain certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Information Systems is required.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Certification in VMware, Avamar, Data Domain is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular health checks and performance tuning on VxRail clusters to ensure optimal operation and availability.
• Execute emergency updates and patches to VxRail systems to address critical vulnerabilities or performance issues.
• Manage and maintain Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, preferably VxRail, ensuring peak performance and reliability.
• Oversee backup and restoration tasks using Avamar and Data Domain systems, including configuring backup jobs and monitoring processes.
• Diagnose and resolve high-severity incidents affecting VxRail infrastructure and coordinate with vendor support as needed.
• Perform immediate recovery operations for critical systems using Avamar in the event of data loss.
• Monitor Avamar backup schedules and alerts in real-time for prompt action on anomalies.
• Respond to P1 alerts related to Data Domain disk failures or capacity issues and secure data restoration paths.
• Investigate and remediate high-priority storage bottlenecks in Data Domain systems.

Job Summary

The Associate Infrastructure Engineer, Digital and Transformation , will participate in supporting, proof of concepts building, documenting, and enhancing operational efficiency. This role offers exposure to fundamental infrastructure/Network engineering principles and concepts, with additional focus on Management of Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, preferably VxRail, Backup & Restoration using Avamar and Data Domain systems, Alert Monitoring, Incident, and Change Management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct regular health checks and performance tuning on VxRail clusters to ensure optimal operation and availability.


• Execute emergency updates and patches to VxRail systems to address critical vulnerabilities or performance issues.


• Manage and maintain Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, preferably VxRail, ensuring peak performance and reliability, and proactively address any systems management tasks.


• Oversee backup and restoration tasks using Avamar and Data Domain systems, including configuring backup jobs, monitoring backup processes, ensuring data verification, troubleshooting backup errors, and managing storage allocation for backups.


• Diagnose and resolve high-severity incidents affecting VxRail infrastructure, coordinating swiftly with vendor support if necessary.


• Perform immediate recovery operations for critical systems using Avamar in the event of data loss or corruption.


• Monitor Avamar backup schedules and alerts in real-time for prompt action on any detected anomalies affecting data integrity.


• Respond rapidly to P1 alerts related to Data Domain disk failures or capacity issues, ensuring data restoration paths are secured.


• Investigate and remediate any high-priority storage bottlenecks in Data Domain systems that could jeopardize service levels.


• Manage urgent data replication tasks to ensure data availability and continuity in disaster scenarios.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems

Work Experience

Upto 3 years of relevant experience.

Certification

Certification in VMware, Avamar, Data Domain is an added advantage.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Possesses exposure to or education in the following:


• The ability to produce breach and other reports that are necessary for the correct operation of processes.


• Identify failures and shortcomings in the current processes and escalation with recommendations.


• Perform the necessary handover procedures in cases where shift work is required.


• Familiar with performing system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.


• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.


• Monitor System Resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.


• Basic understanding on Routers Switches, firewall, MS Cluster, File Server, Print server.


• Good to have ITIL framework understanding.

Physical and Travel Requirements

• Occasional On-Call work required.


• Should support in US Business hours which are between 05:30 PM – 2:30AM India time.


• Willingness to work outside of these hours as needed.


• Ability to work in a global and virtual environment and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
