Job Description
The Technical Consultant for Risk Management and Financial Analytics platforms is responsible for hands‑on development, configuration, data integration, and technical support across enterprise risk and finance applications. The role focuses on building and optimizing technical components, supporting implementation activities, and ensuring high‑quality delivery under the guidance of senior consultants or technical leads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and configure risk management and financial analytics modules based on approved functional designs.
- Configure rule framework components such as transformations, allocations, and business rules under supervision.
- Set up metadata objects, hierarchies, dimensional/fact attributes, mappings, and driver inputs.
- Develop SQL scripts, stored procedures, packages, and views for data transformations, validations, and performance optimization.
- Build source‑to‑target mapping logic based on design documents.
- Support development of data validation routines, exception handling, and reconciliation checks.
- Work with ETL and data engineering teams to load data into staging and analytical layers.
- Assist in defining and implementing data pipelines under guidance from senior technical consultants.
- Perform data profiling, quality checks, and troubleshoot data load failures.
- Prepare unit test cases and participate in SIT/UAT cycles to validate processing logic and outputs.
- Support migration activities across development, testing, and production environments.
- Provide root‑cause analysis for defects identified during testing.
- Execute batch jobs, processing engines, and rule runs as part of development and testing cycles.
- Monitor system performance and support tuning activities guided by senior team members.
- Capture logs, analyze outputs, and coordinate with leads to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain technical documentation, mapping specifications, validation logs, unit test scripts, and configuration trackers.
- Provide inputs for design artifacts such as mapping sheets and rule‑to‑field matrices.
- Work closely with functional consultants and business teams to interpret requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with database administrators, infrastructure teams, and application support teams as needed.
- Escalate technical risks and issues to senior members in a timely manner.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in SQL programming, including joins, analytical functions, and performance‑aware coding practices.
- Working knowledge of metadata and data modeling concepts, rule‑based processing frameworks, and batch processing and execution flows.
- Experience with ETL tools or database‑based ingestion frameworks.
- Understanding of database concepts such as partitioning, indexing, statistics, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix commands, batch execution, and log analysis.
- Basic to moderate knowledge of risk management, financial analytics, treasury, liquidity, or regulatory reporting concepts.
- Understanding of financial product data structures such as loans, deposits, securities, and derivatives.
- Ability to interpret functional specifications and implement technical solutions accordingly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured development processes.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with functional and technical teams.
- Ability to work independently on clearly defined tasks and seek guidance when required.
- Eagerness to learn advanced platform features and domain concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in financial systems, risk platforms, or data warehousing projects.
- Hands‑on experience with enterprise financial or risk management applications.
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps‑based delivery environments.
- Exposure to cloud or engineered systems environments is an added advantage.
- Relevant database or analytics platform certifications are a plus.
