Job summary

Purview Services is seeking an experienced VMware vROps Administrator to join our infrastructure team in Chennai. You will manage vROps environments, monitor health and capacity, and develop dashboards to support proactive operations.

The role requires 6–11 years of hands-on VMware experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to collaborate across VMware, Cloud, Network, and Storage teams. A challenging, growth‑oriented environment awaits.

Qualifications

  • 6-11 years of experience in VMware/vRealize Operations administration and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware vROps / VMware Aria Operations.
  • Good knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, clusters, HA, DRS, and vMotion.
  • Experience in performance monitoring, capacity management, alerting, and dashboard creation.
  • Knowledge of VMware Aria Operations policies, symptoms, metrics, and alerts.
  • Understanding of server, storage, network, and virtualization concepts.
  • Experience with PowerShell, PowerCLI, or scripting is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of VMware Aria Suite/Log Insight is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder-management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage VMware vROps environments.
  • Monitor health, performance, availability, and capacity of VMware infra.
  • Configure dashboards, alerts, policies, symptoms, and notifications in vROps.
  • Analyze performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and issues.
  • Perform capacity planning and resource utilization analysis.
  • Monitor vSphere components: ESXi, vCenter, clusters, VMs, datastores, networks.
  • Troubleshoot performance and availability incidents.
  • Develop customized dashboards and reports.
  • Maintain vROps adapters and integrations.
  • Support automation and remediation workflows.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and preventive actions.
  • Maintain health baselines for critical infrastructure.
  • Assist upgrades, patches, migrations related to vROps.
  • Collaborate with VMware, Cloud, Infra, Network, Storage, and Apps teams.
  • Prepare operational docs and performance/capacity reports.
  • Ensure monitoring standards and security controls followed.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and manage VMware vRealize Operations (vROps) environments.
  • Monitor the health, performance, availability, and capacity of VMware infrastructure.
  • Configure dashboards, alerts, policies, symptoms, and notifications in vROps.
  • Analyze performance metrics and identify infrastructure bottlenecks and potential issues.
  • Perform capacity planning, forecasting, and resource utilization analysis.
  • Monitor VMware vSphere environments including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, VMs, datastores, and networks.
  • Troubleshoot performance, availability, and capacity-related incidents.
  • Develop customized dashboards and reports based on business and operational requirements.
  • Configure and maintain vROps adapters and integrations with VMware and third-party infrastructure.
  • Support automation and remediation workflows for recurring infrastructure issues.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
  • Maintain health and performance baselines for critical infrastructure components.
  • Support upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and migrations related to vROps.
  • Collaborate with VMware, Cloud, Infrastructure, Network, Storage, and Application teams.
  • Prepare operational documentation, performance reports, and capacity reports.
  • Ensure monitoring standards, security controls, and operational best practices are followed.
