Vice President – Information Management

Business: Data Analytics Office

Principal Responsibilities
  • Develop and drive best practices across the teams in the assigned function.
  • Demonstrate strong project management abilities in delivering large and complex projects. Sets clear objectives, defining metrics and key milestones to plan and organize work.
  • Train team on technical and communication skills.
  • Provide technical and business thought leadership to Risk Reporting and Data Management.
  • Perform Review and Challenge of Loss provisioning (IFRS9) activities in a timely manner, including:
  • Expected Credit Loss (ECL) analysis, assessing modelling and non-modelling drivers of results.
  • Review CRR concentration, LGD/PD/EAD Analysis.
  • Identifying themes across the entire Wholesale Risk Portfolio.
  • Providing commentary for ECL results and assisting in making strategic suggestions.
  • Timely preparation of necessary decks to present at senior meetings.
  • Support the production of commentary packs for site, region, and group meetings, including forums and senior management committees.
  • Work with Group Risk Analytics teams to understand credit risk methodologies.
  • Coordinate activities with Stress Testing, Sovereign Risk & Forward Economic Guidance Teams.
  • Continuously review key risks and proactively institute controls in place to address the same.
  • Ensure compliance to Group policies and governance and controls framework.
  • Ensure smooth running of a new Operating Model and Governance process.
  • Ensure queries raised to the team are resolved in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of IFRS9 and understanding of Models.
  • University graduate in Finance, Computer Science, or numerated related disciplines.
  • Candidate should have some experience in management and keen to develop this dimension and can demonstrate team building and leadership achievements.
  • Very good presentation skills to brief senior management on topics or summarize key information.
  • Good relationship skills with customers, especially under pressure.
  • Experience in analytical reporting, e.g., explain of a quantity by breaking down its input variables.
  • Able to understand and document processes using data flow diagrams.
  • Good level of understanding of Excel & Access (VBA level), PowerPoint and MS Word.
  • Knowledge of SAS/Python.
Skills
  • Understand risk analytics and credit risk reporting.
  • Reporting experience (SAS Base or SAS EG).
  • Regulatory reporting experience an added advantage.
  • Technical skills, with ability to:
  • Manipulate large data sets on analytics platforms like SAS & Python.
  • Spreadsheet-based tools for analysis and present to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong Credit and Impairment metrics (PD, EAD, LGD, Provisioning) subject-matter, business knowledge and technology sense.
  • Strong written / verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of Wholesale Risk.
What additional skills will be good to have?
  • Master’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce or any other numerical discipline.
  • 12+ years of relevant work experience in Reporting & Analysis. Knowledge and understanding of financial services preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Good organizational, analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Takes ownership of personal and professional development, increasing professional knowledge and skill experience.
  • Provide strong oversight over all regulatory and compliance matters related to Risk MI for the Risk function.
  • Support and execute cost improvement strategies.
