Scorpio Group in Mumbai is seeking a Voyage Manager for Operations to oversee end-to-end voyage execution, liaise with brokers and charterers, and manage post-fixture activities. The ideal candidate has about 3 years of experience in commercial operations or seagoing management and demonstrates strong behavioural skills in negotiations and communications.

Responsibilities

• Liaison with Chartering-Assist the Chartering Department in collating information required by customers during pre-fixture negotiations.
• Execute voyage by liaising with Brokers, Charterers, Agents and internal departments on a 24/7 basis.
• Ensure collection of receivables and billing for freight and charterers' claims; support port and post-fixture activities.
• Appoint port agents, plan bunkers and coordinate with post-fixture group; review Port Disbursement accounts.
• Record keeping and Data Management in company systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Area of Responsibility

Liaison with Chartering-Assist the Chartering Department in collating the information required by customers during the pre-fixture negotiations. The information required may include:

• -Details of the vessels specifications
• -Cargo carrying capabilities
• -Performance history of the vessel
• -Assessing suitability for the trade
• -Estimated Voyage Costs
• -Port specific information
• -Vessel scheduling

Execution of Voyage

• -To liaise and coordinate with Brokers / Charterers, Agents, Internal departments on efficient & to facilitate execution of the voyage on a 24/7 basis.
• -Liaising with accounting and prepare summary of outstanding, receivables.
• -Ensure collection of all receivables to improve cash flow.
• -Contest / defend and negotiate claims.

Bunkering & Vessel Optimization

• -To ascertain that the vessel optimizes cargo intakes & to ensure vessel is sufficiently bunkered.

Internal & External Liaison

• -To negotiate and appoint port agents, plan bunkers stems as per grades permissible to trading areas.
• -To bill for freight and other charterers claims and coordinate with post fixture group.
• -Post fixture inputs to Claims Coordinators
• -Review and approval of Port Disbursement accounts.
• -Record keeping and Data Management in company systems.
