Job summary

Atlys is seeking a Voice AI Intern to help build the next generation of Guest Delight. You’ll work on AI voice agents that understand travellers, hold natural conversations, reason through problems, and resolve queries over calls.

This role focuses on real-time improvements across speech-to-text, text-to-speech, LLMs, interruptions, and agent orchestration. You’ll turn real calls into better models and flows, analyze failure patterns, and design evaluation frameworks for latency, accuracy,

Qualifications

• Built something with conversational AI through a project, internship, hackathon or personal project.
• Familiar with APIs and navigating unfamiliar technical systems.
• Knowledge of STT, TTS, prompting, RAG, tool calling, agents and model evaluation or eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Improve real-time voice AI systems for customer support across speech-to-text, text-to-speech, LLMs, interruptions, and agent orchestration.
• Enhance naturalness of conversations by handling accents, background noise, interruptions, and real-world variability.
• Analyze real calls to improve models, prompts, tools, and conversation flows.
• Build rigorous evaluation systems to measure latency, accuracy, naturalness, and handoffs to humans.
• Connect voice agents with Atlys systems and ship improvements into customer workflows.

The Role

We’re looking for a Voice AI Intern to help us build the next generation of Guest Delight at Atlys.

You’ll work on AI voice agents that can understand travellers, hold natural conversations, reason through their problems, and help resolve queries over a call.

This is not an internship where you’ll spend weeks reading papers or building demos that never ship. You’ll work on real customer conversations, real models, and real problems, with the goal of making an AI agent feel as helpful and natural as our best Guest Delight teammate.

The Job

• Improve real time voice AI systems for customer support, working across speech to text, text to speech, LLMs, interruption handling and agent orchestration.
• Make conversations feel more human by improving how agents handle accents, speaking styles, background noise, interruptions and unpredictable real-world conversations.
• Turn real calls into better models and flows by analysing failure patterns and improving prompts, tools, models and conversation logic.
• Build rigorous evaluation systems to measure latency, accuracy, naturalness, resolution quality, hallucinations and when an agent should hand off to a human.
• Make voice agents genuinely useful by connecting them with Atlys systems and knowledge, prototyping aggressively and shipping improvements into real customer workflows.

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll likely thrive in this role if you:

• Have built something with conversational AI, whether through a personal project, internship, hackathon or something you built simply because you were curious.
• Are comfortable with APIs and figuring your way through unfamiliar technical systems.
• Understand, or are hungry to learn, concepts such as STT, TTS, prompting, RAG, tool calling, agents and model evaluation.
• Move quickly from an idea to a working prototype and enjoy debugging problems where the answer is not obvious.
• Are deeply curious about how AI behaves in real world conversations and care about the tiny details that make an interaction feel natural.
