Job summary

Mainstreet Studios is seeking a Videographer & Editor who can own content start to finish, shoot it and then edit it. You'll shoot YouTube long-form, Shorts, and Reels for our clients, you should also have a good editing skill to make it into a publish-ready video.

This is for someone who is genuinely comfortable on both sides of the camera-to-timeline pipeline, not just a cinematographer who edits a little or an editor who shoots occasionally.

Qualifications

• 2+ years shooting AND editing for YouTube and/or Instagram.
• Strong command of camera operation, lighting, and composition for long-form and short-form content.
• Strong command of Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve; After Effects a plus.
• Sharp sense of pacing and retention for YouTube long-form and Shorts/Reels.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Production: Review briefs, shot lists, and scripts to plan lighting, camera setup, and shot coverage for each format.
• Coordinate equipment and location logistics with the production team.
• Create effective framing and shot plans for shoot days.

What You'll Own

Pre-Production

• Review briefs, shot lists, and scripts to plan lighting, camera setup, and shot coverage for each format (long-form, Shorts, Reels)
• Coordinate equipment and location logistics with the production team
• Come up with good frames for shoot

Shooting

• Operate camera and manage lighting to match each client's visual style and platform
• Shoot for both long-form YouTube and short-form (Shorts/Reels) in the same session where needed, understanding how coverage differs across formats
• Ensure consistent visual quality and continuity across a shoot day and across a client's content over time
• Manage on-set time to stay within scheduled shoot windows

Editing

• Cut the footage you shot into long-form YouTube videos, Shorts, and Reels per the brief
• Structure edits for retention, strong hooks, pacing, and platform-appropriate cuts
• Add captions, sound design, motion graphics, and basic color correction as needed
• Maintain each client's established visual and editing style across videos

Revisions & Delivery

• Incorporate feedback from Account Managers and clients within agreed turnaround times
• Track revision rounds clearly to avoid confusion on what's approved
• Deliver final files in the correct specs/formats for each platform

What You'll Need

• 2+ years shooting AND editing for YouTube and/or Instagram, this is a combined skill requirement, not either/or
• Strong command of camera operation, lighting, and composition across long-form and short-form content
• Strong command of Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve; After Effects a plus
• Sharp sense of pacing and retention for both YouTube long-form and Shorts/Reels
• Comfortable working solo for shooting & editing
• Ability to juggle multiple client shoots and edits at once
• Bonus: gimbal/stabilizer work, basic sound recording, or experience with creator/personal-brand content

How You'll Be Measured

• Footage quality and edit turnaround, start to finish
• On-time, on-budget shoot execution and on-time edit delivery within revision SLAs
• Consistency of visual and editing style across a client's content over time
• Content performance (watch time, retention, engagement) tied to shoot + edit quality
