Job Description
We're looking for a Video Editor Intern to join our creative team, with a strong focus on organic social content. The ideal candidate lives and breathes short-form - someone who edits with the first 3 seconds in mind, understands platform-native pacing, and has genuinely grown or contributed to an organic page before.
You’ll bring a sharp eye for storytelling, and the instinct to turn raw footage into scroll-stopping content.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit raw footage into polished, engaging content optimized for organic reach across Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms
- Cut with hooks front-of-mind - pacing, text overlays, and openers that stop the scroll in the first 1–3 seconds
- Manage post-production workflows from ingestion to final delivery
- Collaborate with the creative team on concepts, scripts, and shot lists to shape content that performs organically
- Perform advanced editing, graphics integration, and audio cleanup
- Organize assets, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines across a high-volume content calendar
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong video editing and sound design fundamentals
- An instinct for hooks - able to identify or construct the strongest hook from raw footage, and edit to sustain retention through the full video
- Strong storytelling ability demonstrated through portfolio/reel
- Knowledge of video production pipelines and pre/post-production workflows
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects a plus
- Understanding of video formats, compression, and delivery requirements across platforms
- Demonstrated experience growing or working on an organic social page for a brand (personal or professional)
Bonus:
motion graphics and animation skills; experience with meme/shitpost or deadpan-tone content formats
Portfolio Requirements
Range of editing styles and techniques, with an emphasis on short-form/organic work
At least one example where you can speak to why it worked - hook choice, pacing, retention
Work across multiple formats (professional, academic, or personal projects welcome)
