Job summary

NexCap in Mumbai is seeking a Video Editor to transform market research into engaging Reels, Shorts and long-form YouTube content. You’ll edit to capture attention, design thumbnails, and craft visuals that explain stock market ideas clearly.

You will collaborate with analysts and the content team to maintain a regular publishing schedule while ensuring retention and clarity across formats.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of video editing experience.
• Comfortable using Claude (AI) in editing workflow.
• Solid understanding of retention editing and thumbnail psychology.
• Portfolio with short-form, long-form edits and thumbnails.
• Able to deliver quickly to a regular publishing schedule.
• Interest in stock markets or investing is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Edit Short-Form (Reels/Shorts) with fast, hook-driven edits and strong first seconds.
• Edit Long-Form YouTube videos with engaging first minute and smooth flow.
• Design thumbnails to match video titles and hooks and test CTR ideas.

NexCap is a stock market research brand. We turn complex market ideas into simple strategies that investors can act on. Our content on Instagram and YouTube breaks down markets, stocks and investing ideas so everyday investors can understand them and use them.

About the Role

We're looking for a Video Editor who can make the stock market easy to watch. You'll edit our Reels, Shorts and long-form YouTube videos, design thumbnails that get clicks, and turn research-heavy ideas into visuals that are simple and keep people watching. You'll work closely with our research and content team in our Mumbai office.

Key Responsibilities

Short-Form (Reels / Shorts)

• Edit fast, punchy videos with a strong hook in the first 3 seconds
• Keep retention high with tight cuts, zooms, captions, B-roll and sound design
• Adapt trending and viral formats to stock market content

Long-Form (YouTube)

• Edit a strong, engaging first-minute hook with visuals, pacing and sound that stop viewers from leaving
• Use clean, basic cuts for the rest of the video so it flows smoothly and stays easy to follow

Thumbnails & Packaging

• Design thumbnails that earn high click-through rates and match each video's title and hook
• Test thumbnail ideas and learn from CTR and retention data

Simplifying Complex Ideas

• Turn market concepts, charts and research into clear graphics and simple visual explainers
• Work with analysts so the visuals are accurate and still easy to follow

Requirements

• 1+ year of video editing experience
• Comfortable using Claude (AI) in your editing and content workflow
