DESCRIPTION

Long-Form YouTube Video Editor

Not for beginners (please read before applying)

This role is meant for editors who already have real, hands‑on experience editing videos. If you're just starting out or still learning the basics, we'd kindly ask you not to apply for now; this internship isn't a beginner role. We're looking for people who already know how to edit well, take their work seriously, and are ready to perform at a professional level from day one.

Selected intern's day‑to‑day responsibilities include:

1. Go through all raw footage carefully and understand the full story, message, or point the video is trying to make.
2. Structure the edit so that it flows well from start to finish, with a clear beginning, a strong middle, and a satisfying ending, rather than just a random sequence of clips.
3. Identify the strongest moments, ideas, and clips from the raw footage, and arrange them to keep viewers engaged throughout the entire video, not just in the first few seconds.
4. Cut out dead space, filler, mistakes, and unnecessary pauses to keep the pacing tight without losing important context.
5. Add b‑roll, cutaways, and supporting visuals where needed to reinforce what is being said and keep the video visually interesting.
6. Add captions and subtitles accurately, and sync them properly with the audio.
7. Carry out basic color correction and grading so that footage looks consistent and professional throughout the video.
8. Clean up and balance the audio, remove background noise, fix volume inconsistencies, and add music where appropriate.
9. Add transitions, overlays, text, and graphics wherever they help explain or emphasize a point.
10. Add sound effects, motion graphics, and light VFX where they improve the overall viewing experience.
11. Match the tone, style, and branding guidelines specific to each project or channel.
12. Watch the final edit in full before submitting it, to catch any errors, awkward cuts, or pacing issues.
13. Organize raw footage, project files, and exported edits properly, so that anything can be found or picked up later without confusion.
14. Take feedback on edits and make revisions accurately and on time.
15. Deliver finished edits by the agreed deadlines, whether daily or weekly.

Other requirements

1. This role is not for beginners. Please only apply if you already have genuine, hands‑on experience editing videos.
2. Since this is a fully remote internship, you must have your own laptop/PC capable of running Adobe Premiere Pro smoothly, with enough storage for large video files, a stable high‑speed internet connection, and headphones for audio review.
3. Should have real experience editing long‑form videos (YouTube videos, vlogs, documentaries, interviews, client work, or similar).
4. A good portfolio is preferable, but not compulsory. We will judge editing skill through our own assignment/task as part of the selection process.
5. Should understand pacing and storytelling for longer videos, keeping viewers engaged throughout.
6. Should be comfortable following a set process or style guide closely, while still bringing their own creative judgment to the edit.
7. Should be able to take direct feedback across multiple rounds of revisions and apply it accurately.
8. Should be able to manage more than one video project at a time without missing deadlines.
9. Should be genuinely interested in storytelling and video editing as a craft, not just looking for a quick internship to add to a resume.
