Qualifications

• Modernizing legacy applications into cloud-native, microservices-based architectures using AWS and modern engineering practices.
• Strong technical background in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled software development.
• Experience in high-availability, high-transaction environments with stringent uptime and performance requirements.
• Outstanding executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to engage customers, business leaders, and technology stakeholders.
• Preferred industry background: TravelTech, FinTech, Payments, Enterprise SaaS, Banking Technology, or other large-scale software product companies.

This is a strategic executive leadership role for a technology leader with a proven track record of building, scaling, and modernizing enterprise software products within a product-based IT organization.

We are specifically looking for candidates who have spent the majority of their career in product-based software companies, leading the development of globally deployed SaaS or enterprise software products. Experience in IT services, consulting, or project-based delivery organizations without significant product engineering leadership experience will not be considered suitable for this role.

The ideal candidate is a Technologist-Statesman - someone who combines deep technical expertise with exceptional business acumen and organizational leadership. You will own mission-critical product portfolios, drive engineering strategy, modernize legacy platforms into cloud-native architectures, champion AI-driven product innovation, and lead globally distributed engineering teams delivering highly available, enterprise-grade software.

You will possess deep expertise in Java, C, SQL, AWS, distributed systems, and modern software engineering practices, along with the ability to influence executive stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional leadership teams.

What You Bring to the Role

• 15+ years of experience in software product engineering, with the majority of your career spent in product-based IT organizations developing commercial software products.
• 7+ years in senior engineering leadership roles (Director/VP level) within a product company, leading large, globally distributed engineering organizations of 200+ engineers.
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling enterprise SaaS platforms, driving product innovation, and delivering complex software products at global scale.
• Proven experience modernizing legacy applications into cloud-native, microservices-based architectures using AWS and modern engineering practices.
• Strong technical background in Java, Spring Boot, SQL optimization, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled software development.
• Experience in high-availability, high-transaction environments with stringent uptime and performance requirements.
