Job summary

Veoneer in Bangalore is seeking a Verification & Validation Lead (8-10 years) to drive end-to-end software V&V across the development lifecycle for automotive ECU software. You will design test strategies, develop automation scripts (CAPL/Python/Java), work with CAN/CAN-FD/UDS, use CANoe/CANalyzer, and mentor engineers while coordinating with customers and stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have 8–10 years in Automotive V&V, strong test design experience, and hands-on testing with CAN protocols,

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–10 years in Automotive Software Verification & Validation.
• Strong knowledge of test design, strategies, and planning.
• Experience with ECU software validation and automotive systems.
• Exposure to ASPICE and automotive development processes.
• Hands-on testing with CAN/CAN-FD/UDS and diagnostic protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end V&V activities across the software lifecycle.
• Analyze requirements to derive test specs and verification criteria.
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated tests.
• Develop test automation scripts (CAPL, Python, Java).
• Conduct ECU-level testing using Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, CANStress).
• Lead defect analysis, root-cause investigation, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and delivery.
• Mentor juniors and contribute to technical reviews.

What Will You Do?

• Perform end-to-end Software Verification & Validation (V&V) activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Analyze system and software requirements and derive test specifications and verification criteria.
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases.
• Develop and maintain test automation scripts using CAPL, Python, or Java.
• Perform communication and diagnostic testing using CAN, CAN-FD, CAN TP, and UDS protocols.
• Execute ECU-level testing using Vector tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, and CANStress.
• Conduct embedded software testing and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation.
• Prepare and maintain test plans, reports, traceability matrices, and other test artifacts.
• Support defect analysis, debugging, root cause investigation, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality and project success.
• Drive continuous improvements in test processes, methodologies, and automation frameworks.
• Provide technical guidance, effort estimations, and regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with customers for issue analysis, root cause investigation, and resolution.
• Establish and maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and verification results across the V-cycle.

What Will You Bring?

• 8-10 years of experience in Automotive Software Verification & Validation.
• Strong expertise in software testing methodologies and test case design techniques.
• Strong project and system-level understanding of Automotive ECU Software Development and Validation
• Hands_on experience with CAN, CAN-FD, CAN TP, and UDS communication protocols.
• Proven experience in automation development using CAPL, Python, or Java.
• Strong working knowledge of Vector tools including CANoe, CANalyzer, and CANStress.
• Experience in ECU testing, embedded software validation, and automotive system testing.
• Exposure to Passive Safety/Airbag systems is highly preferred.
• Strong debugging, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of ASPICE, CMMI, and automotive development processes.
• Experience with requirements and traceability tools such as DOORS and CodeBeamer.
• Familiarity with lab equipment, hardware validation, and ESD-safe practices.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical reviews.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-driven mindset with strong ownership, accountability, and focus on quality delivery.
