Topic: Vehicle Function Calibration
Calibrate and validate vehicle functions for specific engine and vehicle control units in line with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute calibration work packages as agreed for the project.
- Calibrate and validate vehicle functions across vehicle and engine segments.
- Support calibration project managers in maintaining process adherence.
- Manage components and organize, schedule, and track vehicle and test-track activities.
- Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams and customers, participate in customer discussions, and provide regular status updates.
- Travel to customer locations for calibration, validation, and field support, and to extreme environments for summer, winter, and altitude expeditions. The role involves extensive travel, estimated at approximately 200 trips, with each trip lasting around 15 days.
- Prepare test setups for engine and vehicle calibration activities and adhere strictly to compliance requirements.
- Deliver vehicle function calibration DCM/PACO/CDFx files, including ICDM updates.
- Prepare internal and external calibration development reports, application guideline and hints reports, and work-package reports.
- Conduct calibration reviews with functional experts, analyze field data, and create reports.
- Update calibration data and status in ICDM and VCDM.
- Transfer calibration know-how to peers and support calibration efficiency improvements, innovation, automation, and tool development.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Good understanding of diesel, gasoline, and CNG engines, as well as exhaust gas after-treatment systems.
- Basic understanding of vehicle-function calibration processes, calibration data-set handling, emissions, after-treatment, and OBD.
- Basic understanding of engine management systems, sensors, and actuators.
- Experience or familiarity with tools such as INCA, MDA, Uniplot, and MATLAB.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and enterprising approach to working under time constraints.
- Ability to quickly understand technical relationships and their consequences.
- Willingness to relocate or travel extensively for calibration activities and work in different terrains and ambient conditions.
- Good driving skills and a valid driving licence for vehicle calibration activities.
