Varaha, a climate tech venture, is hiring a Finance Controller to lead finance and accounting, ensure regulatory compliance, and support scalable growth.

The role requires a CA/CPA with 7–12 years in startups or impact-driven orgs; responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, audits, and cross-functional collaboration to assess project economics and financial viability of climate initiatives.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent.
• 7–12 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in startups, climate tech, or impact-driven organizations.
• Strong understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, tax compliance, and corporate governance.
• Experience with international projects, multi-currency accounting, and donor/funder reporting is a plus.
• Proficiency in financial systems and ERP tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and optimize financial performance.

• Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to support business planning and decision-making.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Finance Controller to manage Varaha’s finance and accounting functions. The Finance Controller will ensure robust financial management, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning, playing a critical role in supporting our growth and mission to drive climate-positive impact at scale.
