Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Value & Access Manager to lead analytics related to managed care and payer strategy. You will partner with payer marketing, pricing, contracting, and brand teams to deliver insights that influence reimbursement decisions across US markets.

The role reports to the Value & Access Insights team and oversees 1–3 associates. You will build analytics plans, handle complex datasets (claims, pharmacy data, formulary information) and present findings to leadership to shape access

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of Information Systems experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of Information Systems experience.
• Experience in payer analytics and managed markets is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Payer Marketing and Pricing/Contracting and Brand Marketing teams to build analytics plans in support of value and access strategy.
• Analyze data from claims, prescriptions, outlets and formulary datasets (IQVIA LAAD, NPA, DDD).
• Provide oversight of managed markets analytics including formulary position and utilization controls.
• Prepare and present periodic reports tracking product performance against business objectives.
• Execute analytics plans using patient-level and payer data to inform reimbursement strategies.
• Mentor 1–3 associates and maintain cross-functional collaboration.
• Perform longitudinal patient-level analysis, time-series modeling and segmentation to answer business questions.
• Create data analytics models to generate strategic insights using SQL, Python and Excel.

Job Summary

The Value and Access Manager is responsible for analytics relating to managed care/organized customers and help shape payer & IDN strategies for Value & Analytics insights organization . The Role will be part of a cross functional analytics insights team to provide integrated analyses and insights to US insights and Coverage and Pricing team. This role is specifically responsible for providing insights impacting payer reimbursement strategies through secondary data analytics and data integration

This position will report to the Senior Manager, Value & Access Insights team

Responsibilities:

• Partner with Payer Marketing and Pricing/Contracting and Brand Marketing teams to build and prioritize analytics and insights plan in support of value and access strategy for Amgen brands
• Understand pharmaceutical ecosystem and data sets including medial and pharmacy claims (ex. IQVIA LAAD, Symphony Claims), prescription (ex. IQVIA NPA), outlet (ex. IQVIA DDD)
• Provide in-depth, expertise-based oversight and delivery of managed markets analysis including product formulary position, utilization management controls, customer segmentation and control/sophistication assessment.
• Prepare, continuously refine and present periodic reports tracking product and portfolio performance against business objectives.
• Execute analytics plan to support payer insights from various payer datasets based on detailed understanding of related datasets i.e Patient level claims data; Payer claims data; Formulary coverage; Specialty Pharmacy Data.
• Oversee efforts of 1-3 associates, including setting performance standards, managing their staffing, and monitoring performance
• Build and maintain strong relationships with cross functional partners; proactively seeks buy-in and provides ongoing support to address business needs
• Perform advanced analytics including longitudinal patient level analysis, time series modeling, customer segmentation and issue diagnostics in support of business questions
• Create data analytics models to generate strategic actionable business insights using SQL, Python and Microsoft Excel

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in computer science, statistics or STEM majors with a minimum of 5 years of Information Systems experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics or STEM majors with a minimum of 7 years of Information Systems experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with new product / indication launch especially in respiratory disease area
• Working experience on Analytics of products with Medical benefit and Pharmacy benefit usage
• Prior experience in contracts and pricing, direct payer experience or value marketing and have a good foundational understanding of the US payer environment and a strong foundation in the U.S. healthcare market
• Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatic problem-solving approach, and manage execution
• Exceptional written/oral communication skills and executive presence across functions and across different levels of leadership
• Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity; ability to see the big picture; ability to collect, digest and assemble information to enable relevant business analyses
• Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles
• 5+ years of healthcare experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, health care, and/or strategy consulting with specific experience and expertise in coverage, access and reimbursement drivers impacting the biopharmaceutical industry
• High degree of analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exhibits strong understanding of business strategies
