Job summary

Linkwell Telesystems Pvt Ltd – VISIONTEK in Hyderabad seeks an Embedded Hardware & Firmware Validation engineer to validate smart energy meter hardware, interfaces and firmware against requirements. You will contribute through structured testing and defect tracking.

Responsibilities include designing test plans, executing test cases, and creating automated workflows in Embedded C and Python. Sign-offs will document validation results; prior meter experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded hardware and firmware validation experience.
• Knowledge of microcontroller architectures and common bus protocols.
• Experience with lab instruments and defect tracking systems.
• Ability to author test cases and compile test reports.
• Basic coding in Embedded C or Python for test routines.

• Develop trial codes and test scripts (in Embedded C or Python) to evaluate firmware edge conditions.
• Identify, log, analyze, and track bugs through root-cause resolution using defect tracking systems.
• Utilize laboratory instruments including Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and Multimeters to debug hardware-firmware interface issues.
• Prepare comprehensive test summary reports, observation documents, and validation sign-offs.

Qualification: B.Tech / B.E / M.tech in ECE, EEE, Diploma in EEE

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate smart energy meter hardware, peripheral interfaces, and embedded firmware against technical requirements.
• Design, write, and execute comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases for embedded systems.
• Perform manual testing and develop automated test workflows for embedded firmware and hardware boards.
• Develop trial codes and test scripts (in Embedded C or Python) to evaluate firmware edge conditions.
• Identify, log, analyze, and track bugs through root-cause resolution using defect tracking systems.
• Utilize laboratory instruments including Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and Multimeters to debug hardware-firmware interface issues.
• Prepare comprehensive test summary reports, observation documents, and validation sign-offs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Embedded Hardware and Firmware Validation.
• Strong working knowledge of microcontroller architectures and bus protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485).
• Proficiency with laboratory workbench test tools: Digital Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, and Power Supplies.
• Solid background in authoring test cases, defect tracking, and compiling test summary reports.
• Basic coding capability in Embedded C or scripting skills (Python) for test routines and trial code setup.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause debugging skills.

Preferred / Added Advantage:

• Prior domain experience in Smart Energy Meters, power measurement hardware, or DLMS/COSEM communication protocols.
