Job summary

Schneider Electric in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a Validation Engineer in Energy Management to ensure the quality and reliability of embedded products, including software and hardware, with hands‑on testing using advanced test benches and lab equipment.

You will define validation strategies, perform Functional, Integration, Regression, and Performance testing, analyze results, and drive issue resolution with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in product validation, system testing, or QA in R&D environment.
• Hands-on experience testing integrated systems (hardware + firmware + software).
• Strong knowledge of Functional, Regression, Integration, and Performance testing; black-box methods.
• Familiarity with power systems, energy metering, and communication protocols (Modbus, ZigBee).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware validation.
• Proficiency in test automation and scripting (Python, Robot Framework).
• Experience in commissioning, bring-up, configuration and field validation of energy management solutions.

Responsibilities

Validation Engineer Energy Management

Job Summary

As a Validation Engineer in the Energy Management department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our embedded products used in Schneider Electrics energy management solutions. This includes both software and hardware components, with a strong emphasis on hands‑on testing using advanced test benches and lab equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute validation strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements and specifications.
• Perform Functional, Integration, Regression, Performance, and Compliance Testing of embedded products and energy management solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain validation test benches and test setups for end-to-end product validation.
• Analyse test results, perform root cause analysis, and drive issue resolution with development teams.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols including Modbus, Zigbee, and other wired/wireless communication technologies.
• Collaborate with R&D, System Engineering, Product Management, and Quality teams to ensure compliance with product requirements and applicable standards.
• Strong JIRA management skills, including the ability to create, manage, and track issues, defects, and project tasks efficiently.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in product validation, system testing, or quality assurance within an R&D environment.
• Hands‑on experience testing integrated systems (hardware + firmware + software)
• Strong understanding of:
• Functional, Regression, Integration, and Performance testing
• Black-box testing methodologies
• Strong understanding of power systems, energy metering, and communication protocols (Modbus, ZigBee etc.).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware validation.
• Proficiency in test automation and scripting (Python, Robot framework or similar).
• Experience in product commissioning, system bring‑up, configuration, and field validation activities for energy management solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Schneider Electric products or similar platforms.
• Experience with Schneider Electric’s test environments and tools.
• Exposure to IIoT systems, edge devices, and connected platforms
• Knowledge of developing and maintaining automated test scripts using Python and Robot Framework, integrating execution within DevOps pipelines.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity validation for energy systems.
• ISTQB or equivalent certification in software testing.
