Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting seeks an experienced System Assurance (RAMS) Manager to lead RAMS analysis and safety assurance for large-scale rail infrastructure projects in India.

The role requires expertise in RAMS, FMEA, FTA, HAZID/HAZOP, and compliance with IEC 61508, ISO 26262, and EN 50126, plus international project experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 12+ years in a similar safety discipline.
  • International, multicultural project experience advantageous.
  • Experience with RAMS, hazard analyses and safety case development.
  • Ability to interface with domain specialists and project managers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a System Assurance Framework with RAMS roles and responsibilities.
  • Conduct RAMS analyses including reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety assessments.
  • Perform hazard identification analyses (HAZID/HAZOP/FMEA) and mitigation planning.
  • Develop and implement safety assurance processes per IEC 61508, ISO 26262, EN 50126.
  • Apply reliability engineering to optimize design, maintenance, and operations.
  • Perform Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Event Tree Analysis (ETA).
  • Define RAMS requirements across the lifecycle and ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and regulators.
  • Ensure RAMS deliverables meet time, quality, and budget constraints.

VAC - System Assurance (RAMS) Manager (f/m/d)

We are looking for an experienced System Assurance (RAMS) Manager who can lead the role.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a System Assurance Framework, which shall set-out roles and responsibilities in terms of RAMS management,
  • Conduct RAMS analysis, including reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety assessments, using appropriate tools and methodologies to identify potential failure modes and their impact on system performance,
  • Perform hazard identification and analysis (HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, etc) to assess risks associated with system operation and develop strategies to mitigate identified hazards,
  • Develop and implement safety assurance processes in accordance with relevant standards and regulations (eg, IEC 61508, ISO 26262, EN 50126) to ensure the safety integrity of systems and components,
  • Apply reliability engineering principles to optimize system design, maintenance strategies, and operational procedures to enhance system reliability and availability,
  • Conduct FTA and ETA to analyze system failures, identify contributing factors, and develop mitigation measures to prevent or mitigate the impact of failures,
  • Define and manage RAMS requirements throughout the system lifecycle, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs, regulatory requirements, and project objectives,
  • Prepare clear and concise technical reports, documentation, and presentations summarizing RAMS analysis findings, recommendations, and compliance status for stakeholders and regulatory authorities,
  • Ensure that committed RAMS deliverables to the project are achieved within time, quality, and budget and in line with legislation and safety set out in the project scope by the Client.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field,
  • Experience in a similar safety discipline with a minimum of 12 years' experience.
  • International working experience in multicultural teams advantageous.
  • Experience or understanding of project management principles and practices,
  • Experience in performing detailed hazard analyses, including Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Subsystem Hazard Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis,
  • Proven experience of undertaking FMECA and RAMS Assessments,
  • Familiarity with documentation management systems and best practices,
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable,
  • Able to interface with domain specialists, design managers in a competent professional manner,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Software skills
  • MS office suits (including MS Project) & Relevant IT Skills,
  • Proficient software skills in DOORs, CompyPro, or similar tools.
