Job summary

ENS Group is seeking a Project Planner/Engineer to lead planning, design, coordination and commissioning of utilities and building services for industrial recycling facilities and property developments. The role requires coordinating consultants, contractors, suppliers and operations across multiple sites in Tamil Nadu.

You will establish maintenance-readiness systems, asset registers and preventive-maintenance requirements before handover, while monitoring critical paths, schedules and risks to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of utilities, facilities, building-services or industrial-project experience.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, BOQs, specs and construction sequencing.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit or SolidWorks advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Own project-side planning, design, coordination, installation and commissioning of utility and building-service systems.
  • Review and coordinate calculations, specifications and datasheets.
  • Establish preventive-maintenance requirements and asset records before handover.
  • Develop and manage schedules and look-ahead plans using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Monitor progress, risks and compliance with drawings, specs, quality and safety.

Job description

Own the project-side planning, design, coordination, installation and commissioning of utilities, building services and facility systems for industrial recycling facilities and property developments. The role will also establish maintenance-readiness systems, asset records and preventive-maintenance requirements before handover, while coordinating consultants, contractors, suppliers, operations and other engineering disciplines.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTED OUTCOMES
  • Plan, design and coordinate utility systems required for recycling plants, factories, warehouses and property developments.
  • Review engineering calculations, technical specifications, method statements and equipment datasheets
  • Review and coordinate HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, sanitary, fire-protection, utility and building-service systems.
  • Support facility expansion, renovation, upgrading and refurbishment projects.
  • Establish preventive-maintenance schedules, inspection routines, asset registers and equipment checklists before handover.
  • Monitor commissioning performance, defects, early breakdowns, downtime, maintenance costs and reliability during handover and stabilisation.
  • Review equipment utility requirements and verify that available capacity is adequate for current and planned operations.
  • Monitor utility, facility and mechanical installation works for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality and safety requirements.
  • Develop work breakdown structures, baseline schedules, milestone plans and resource-loaded programmes using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
  • Collect and validate site progress, update weekly and monthly programmes, and issue look-ahead plans, S-curves and concise dashboards.
  • Monitor critical path, float, dependencies, procurement lead times and forecast completion; elevate risks before milestones are affected.
  • Facilitate planning reviews with consultants, contractors, vendors and internal teams, recording recovery actions and responsible owners.
  • Support delay analysis, extension-of-time reviews, project controls and management decision-making with traceable schedule evidence.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Building Services Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of utilities, facilities, building-services, maintenance-project or industrial-project experience, preferably in manufacturing, recycling, factories, warehouses, EPC or property development.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, procurement lead times, quantities and construction sequencing.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit, SolidWorks or other engineering software is advantageous.
  • Clear communication and willingness to be based in West Tambaram, Chennai and travel to Madurai and other project sites.
