Healthcare — Tertiary care hospital and surgical services in the Kerala region. We are seeking a full-time Consultant Urologist to deliver high-quality, on-site urology care at our advanced surgical and inpatient facility in Vadakara, Kerala. This role suits a board-qualified uro surgeon capable of independent practice, operative leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient urology care, including pre‑operative evaluation, peri‑operative management and post‑operative follow‑up for adult patients.
- Plan and perform endourological and open procedures independently—PCNL, TURP, cystoscopy, laser lithotripsy and laparoscopic urological surgeries—ensuring safety and evidence‑based technique.
- Respond to urology emergencies and on‑call responsibilities, triaging acute presentations and coordinating urgent surgical interventions when required.
- Lead multidisciplinary care: participate in MDT/tumor board meetings, collaborate with nephrology, oncology, radiology and critical care teams for complex cases.
- Supervise, mentor and train junior doctors, residents and nursing staff; maintain accurate clinical documentation and operative records.
- Drive clinical governance: implement infection control, participate in audit, quality improvement projects and local clinical protocols to improve outcomes.
Skills & Qualifications
Must‑Have (Technical skills)
- Endourology
- Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL)
- Transurethral resection of prostate (TURP)
- Cystoscopy
- Laser lithotripsy
- Laparoscopic urological surgery
Essential Qualifications
- MCh / DrNB in Urology (or equivalent specialist qualification)
- Registration with the Medical Council (State/National) and eligibility to practice in India
- Proven operative experience in endourology and stone surgery with demonstrable surgical logbook
Preferred
- Experience in uro‑oncology procedures and MDT‑led cancer care
- Exposure to teaching/academic activities and participation in clinical audits or research
- Familiarity with urodynamic testing and interpretation
