Job Description

Consultant – Urology is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and surgically managing disorders of the urinary tract and male reproductive system. The provides comprehensive urological care through outpatient consultations, inpatient management, minimally invasive and open surgical procedures, while ensuring patient safety, clinical excellence, and evidence-based treatment.

Role & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage disorders of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, and male reproductive system.
• Conduct OPD consultations, inpatient rounds, and emergency urological assessments.
• Perform elective and emergency urological surgeries, including endoscopic and minimally invasive procedures.
• Manage urinary stones, prostate disorders, urinary tract infections, incontinence, and urological cancers.
• Perform procedures such as cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, TURP, PCNL, and other urological interventions as per expertise.
• Interpret laboratory investigations, imaging studies, and urodynamic test results.
• Develop individualized treatment and postoperative care plans.
• Coordinate with nephrologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgery, and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate operative notes and clinical documentation.
• Participate in clinical audits, teaching programs, research, and continuing medical education.
• Support NABH accreditation and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
