Job summary

Fortis is seeking a senior Urology specialist to lead the department, manage all patients, and oversee pre- and post-operative care. The role includes outreach OPDs and active academic representation at national and international levels.

You will supervise junior consultants, ensure 24/7 coverage, maintain equipment, and participate in hospital committees and CMEs. Strong clinical leadership is essential.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

• Provide expert consultation and manage all patients attending the department.


• Provide and ensure Pre and Post OP care to patients


• Effectively and efficiently carry out the clinical work.


• Outdoor OPDs and other out reach activities.


• Academic activities, in house as well as representation of the hospital at national and international level.


• Contribution to activities of professional associates.


• Write UPS for Media and presenting at various conferences.


• Attend Conferences


• Counseling of Patients – Regd. Financial and Procedure details


• Develop programme for DNB in Urology


• Key business driver


• Impart Training to junior consultants and residents in the field of Urology


• Ensure that equipment in the department is functioning satisfactorily or will take necessary corrective action to ensure this.


• May be required to serve on various Committees connected with the working of the Hospital.


• Should maintain all the quality standards and accreditations of this institution. Support the hospital in its various initiatives and committees to ensure better patient care and safety.


• Mortality and morbidity committee


• Infection control


• To participate and support the CMEs in the hospital


• To ensure that the documentation and medical records of the patients are maintained in order for future reference.


• Develop program for DNB in Urology


• Abiding and upholding the hospital rules.


• Overall clinical and administrative management of the Urology team to ensure a 24/7 cover in the hospital for continual patient care.

Any other tasks assigned by the HOD and the management.
