The role includes daily rounds planning, competency assessments, and organizing workshops, with active involvement in editorial activities and publications in Nursing. Leadership in quality care and SOP adherence is essential.

Aufgaben

• Ensure planning, implementing and evaluating patient safety goals in the hospital.
• Educate staff and patient relatives in prevention of falls and safe practices.
• Conduct HAZMAT training programs and safety awareness for staff and health care workers.
• Ensure safe administration of blood and blood products.
• Ensure safety in surgical procedures and theatre protocol.
• Plan, execute and document daily patient rounds.
• Assist in prevention of pressure ulcers by identifying vulnerable patients using Braden Scale.
• Conduct daily surveillance for burns care, crush injury care, wound and pain management.
• Use wound management protocols including debridement and amputation.
• Demonstrate surgical dressing for RNs at bed-side per learning needs.
• Maintain basic credentials for RNs (Patient safety).
• Assist in Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) classes for RNs and ANMs.
• Participate in competency assessments for RNs and Critical Care Nurses with the Nurse Educator.
• Organize and maintain reports for workshops/conferences with the Nurse Educator.
• Educate patients and families about patient safety practices in hospital.
• Educate staff about policies and procedures related to patient safety.
• Support editorial and publication activities in Nursing journals and manuals.
• Plan, conduct and evaluate short term courses in Nursing – Critical Care and Comprehensive Care Nursing, Operation Theatre Nursing, Transplant Nursing – Renal, Liver and Cardiac.
• Organize and maintain reports for internal and external workshops/symposiums/conferences.
• Preceptor nursing graduates nationally and internationally.
• Conduct nursing care audits based on SOPs developed at Nursing Directorate and GHM.
• Measure, analyze and interpret quality indicators and develop action plan.
• Contribute as a committee member in Nursing Directorate and GHM.
• Balance quality sustenance and lean management and cost control in hospital operations.
• Maintain feedback system and educate staff on it.
• Liaise with consultants and department heads for safe patient care and minimizing errors.
• Maintain documentation and adhere to reporting systems.
• Update knowledge and translate into bedside practice and continuing nursing education.
• Maintain professional decorum and model the organization and nursing profession.
• Support CNO in quality care and nursing administration at GHM.

• Participating in conducting annual competency exam along with the Nurse Educator
• Organizing and maintaining reports for internal and external workshops/symposiums/conferences along with the Nurse Educator
• Educating the patient and the family members about patient safety practices in hospital.
• Educating the staff about the policies and procedures related to patient safety
• Being a part of the team for in the editorial and publication in Nursing (Journals, Newspapers, Nursing Clinical Practice Manual etc)
• Participating in planning, conducting and evaluating the short term courses in Nursing – Critical Care and Comprehensive Care Nursing, Operation Theatre Nursing, Transplant Nursing – Renal, Liver and Cardiac
• Participating in organizing and maintaining reports for internal and external workshops/symposiums/conferences
• Preceptoring nursing graduates at both the national and international levels
• Conducting nursing care audits based on Standard Operating Procedures developed at the Nursing Directorate and that of GHM
• Involving in measuring, analyzing and interpreting quality indicators, and developing action

plan to reach the set target

• Contributing as a committee member in assigned committees of the Nursing Directorate and GHM
• Balancing between quality sustenance and cost cutting as a part of hospital lean management and efficiency evaluation
• Maintaining appropriate feedback system both vertical and horizontal without disturbing the morale of the individuals and educate them on the same
• Liaising with consultants and heads of other departments for effective implementation of patient care and minimizing errors of omission and commission
• Maintaining relevant documents and adherence to established reporting system
• Periodically updating knowledge on clinical and administrative areas, translating them at the bed side and participating in their continuing nursing education
• Maintaining professional decorum at all times and serving as a role model to their staff and branding both the organization and the nursing profession
• Supporting the CNO in all aspects of quality care and nursing administration at GHM
