What you’ll do

We are looking for a Consultant/Senior Consultant – Strategy. The role focuses on:

• Delivery of payments strategy engagements and stakeholder management both internally and externally
• Delivering complex transformation projects from strategy to execution
• Developing and leading proposals/RFPs in collaboration with other teams
• Contributing to thought leadership in the payments space by creating white papers, case studies, trend analyses, etc.
• Developing the team through training and coaching; initiating and leading open conversations with teams and stakeholders to build trust

Required Skills (must have)

• 3 – 9 years of experience in FS with at least 50% experience in payment roles
• Past experience working on projects such as go‑to‑market / expansion strategies, pricing strategies, end‑to‑end product development/management, target operating model design, market research & benchmarking, customer value proposition definition, business process reengineering, BRD/FRD/Process/SOP documentation, commercial or operational due diligence, best‑fit partner identification/selection, cost reduction / automation / digitization, business plan and model creation, etc.

Additional Skills

• Good basic understanding of the payments domain covering available market solutions and vendors, market defining trends, different rails and their use cases, commercial business/pricing aspects of payments, risks & regulatory related requirements, etc.
• One or more payment area expertise with in‑depth knowledge (e.g., cards, acquiring, wallets, faster payments, payment aggregation/PG, cross‑border payments, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate thoughts in a crisp and concise manner
• Proficiency in using PowerPoint, Excel, MPP and other tools to deliver high‑quality consulting deliverables
• Knowledge of technical aspects of payments such as cloud and on‑prem infrastructure, payment data analytics and payment security (PCI DSS/PA DSS compliance)
• Problem‑solving and solution‑oriented for all situations and tasks assigned
• Strong communication, client handling and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to travel for projects within and outside India for long periods (6 to 8 months) if required
• Self‑driven and willing to meet demanding client needs
• Ability to deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations
• Flexibility to move between big‑picture thinking and detailed management
• Ability to navigate the complexities of working in a highly matrixed environment with diverse teams across competencies, countries and engagements
