Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree in Urban Planning, Remote Sensing & GIS, or Geoinformatics preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in urban planning, GIS analytics, environmental and social frameworks, or urban development projects.
• Experience with ULBs, municipal corporations, government agencies, or urban development consultancies preferred.

Urban Planner with GIS

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Urban Planning & Development: Support the preparation, review, and implementation of master plans, land-use plans, and local area development strategies.
2. GIS Mapping & Spatial Analysis: Conduct spatial analysis, thematic mapping, and geospatial data interpretation to support urban planning.
3. Urban Infrastructure Planning: Analyze urban infrastructure, including roads, transportation, water supply, sewerage, drainage, solid waste management, and public amenities.
4. Environmental & Social Frameworks: Integrate environmental sustainability, climate resilience, social inclusion, and safeguard requirements into urban development projects.
5. Municipal Coordination: Coordinate with ULBs, municipal corporations, government departments, and other stakeholders.
6. GIS Database Management: Develop, maintain, and update geospatial databases, land-use maps, and infrastructure inventories.
7. Remote Sensing & Land-Use Analysis: Use satellite imagery and remote sensing tools to assess land-use changes and urban growth.
8. Data Analysis & Reporting: Prepare GIS maps, dashboards, spatial analysis reports, and planning recommendations.
9. Field Surveys & Validation: Conduct or coordinate field surveys, ground-truthing, and geospatial data validation.
10. Project Monitoring: Monitor urban development projects using GIS-based indicators and prepare progress reports.
11. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with planners, engineers, environmental specialists, and social development experts.
12. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure alignment with applicable urban planning regulations, land-use policies, and environmental guidelines.
13. Request for Quotation (RFQ): Responsible for end-to-end management of the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, including defining technical specifications, identifying qualified vendors, and enforcing submission deadlines.

Educational Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree in Urban Planning, Remote Sensing & GIS, or Geoinformatics is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in urban planning, GIS analytics, environmental and social frameworks, or urban development projects.
• Experience working with ULBs, municipal corporations, government agencies, or urban development consultancies is preferred.

Required Skills
