Job summary

Vertiv Co in Mumbai is seeking a UPS Project Engineer / Sr. Engineer to plan, coordinate, execute, and hand over UPS projects. You will collaborate with customers, consultants, contractors and internal teams to ensure successful delivery of complex UPS deployments.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of Online 3-Phase UPS systems, project management capability, and hands-on experience with Data Centre and IT infrastructure projects. UPS projects up to 1200 kVA capacity are included.

Qualifications

• Project management and field coordination required.
• Ability to read BOMs, drawings and site layouts.
• Knowledge of safety standards and quality guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Study BOM, system configuration, site wiring and layout for successful onsite deployment.
• Prepare execution plans, schedules and resource allocation; monitor milestones.
• Coordinate with PMs, consultants, contractors, vendors and customers through project lifecycle.
• Execute installations per drawings, specs, quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate large-scale Data Centre, Industrial and IT infra projects.
• Submit Method Statements, HIRA and Lifting Plans.
• Own commissioning and handover; coordinate SAT and FWT with load banks.
• Deliver training to customer facility teams.
• Maintain project documentation and identify risks with mitigation plans.
• Identify value-added services and communicate opportunities to sales/service teams.

Position: UPS Project Engineer / Sr. Engineer

Education:- BE/ B-Tech/ Diploma- Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Power Electronics Engineering.

Overview:-

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, commissioning, and handing over UPS projects.

The candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of Online 3-Phase UPS systems, project management capability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

1. Study and understand project BOM, system configuration, site wiring, and site layout received from the Sales team / customer and ensure successful implementation at site.
2. Prepare project execution plans, schedules, resource allocation plans, and monitor milestones to ensure timely completion.
3. Coordinate with Project Managers, stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Execute installations in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
5. Responsible for coordinating large-scale Data Centre, Industrial, and IT infrastructure projects.
6. Prepare and submit project documentation including Method Statements, HIRA, and Lifting Plans

Commissioning & Handover

1. Own the complete commissioning process and final system handover to customers.
2. Coordinate L2, L3, L4 and IST commissioning activities during SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
3. Coordinate Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and Site Acceptance Tests with load banks
4. Conduct SAT demonstrations and customer acceptance activities for UPS systems up to 1200 kVA capacity.
5. Deliver operational and maintenance training to customer facility teams.

Coordination & Communication

1. Coordinate with vendors, PMC teams, consultants, contractors, and customers during project execution.
2. Coordinate internally with SCM, Logistics, Quality, Service, and other support functions.
3. Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation plans.

Documentation & Compliance

1. Maintain complete project documentation including plans, reports, commissioning records, and handover documents.
2. Ensure all project activities comply with applicable standards, customer requirements, and company quality guidelines.
3. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

Business Development Support

1. Identify opportunities for value-added services including panels, cables, accessories, batteries, and service contracts.
2. Generate and communicate potential business opportunities to the sales and service teams.
